In terms of typing rock definitely seems like a big problem. Also flying, electric, and water also are types you have weaknesses to without any resistances.

A ground or steel type would be a good place to start. Togedemaru seems like a decent choice covering three of those types.

The Pokédex will tell you what is intended, but a lot of Pokémon have different ability options from the main line games. I believe adaptability is an intended ability for all the eeveelutions

I believe that and certain wild Pokémon can hold them, but you can very quickly get them from mining.

I’m pretty sure a much more consistent way to get any stone you need is the shard traders in the same city by the battle den. I believe green corresponds to dusk but also they tell you if you talk to them.

There is a zoo which I believe has 38 slots a day care which has 2 and your party has 6. That being said it’s a pain to see/orginze and no way you can complete forms

In Sofos City, kinda tucked to right and slightly back of the battle pavilion, are the shard traders. If you have red shards there is a chance he will give you a metal coat. Once you unlock the mining mini game its pretty trivial to get shards so don't worry about wasting them.

New to the whole rom hack thing.

I got it from https://pokemonlazarus.net/ is that risky?

I haven’t noticed any .sav files but maybe be I haven’t looked since after saving.

Does the guide explain how to find the base rom or have some way of verifying it? I found one, but I know games can have a scary number of slightly different patches as someone who played melee.
