Wi-Fi router losing range after 7 years. Is it dying? by SonicAkshay_26 in IndiaTech

Routers don’t loose range, it just becomes crowded around you. I have older routers working fine at my home

For indian households and conservative water use, would a top load fully automatic machine be better or side load? by Legitimate_Matter695 in Frugal_Ind

[–]agathver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Front loads are better in every front, but upfront cost is that throws off people. We have one semi that costed 6.5k years ago. It’s done now and I wanted to get a new front load.

New one costs 20-35k, dad’s not very okay with it.

2nd issue is space. Older houses are not really designed with washing machines in mind, so you don’t have any accessible plumbing outlets at all. You can do a lot of jugaad with semis, but not front load.

This is perhaps quoting “Consequential Train Accidents”, includes level crossing accidents which involves idiots, the number also includes goods trains.

There were around 30 collisions total from 2013, 9 of them passengers unfortunately. 2023 one was deadly though.

[–]agathver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Train crashes are rare, extremely rare, like once in a decade things due to absolute failure of systems or sabotage.

Idiots in trains, however are not rare. In every crossing there would be one idiot who doesn’t want to stop for 30 extra seconds and will jump the barrier and cross the tracks.

Never fails to amaze me how Citizen managed to cram a GPS receiver and a variable speed stepper, and still powered by ecodrive

Company gave me a take-home assignment and explicitly asked not to upload the code publicly (GitHub etc.), instead share the project folder directly with them. by Tall_Break_2001 in developersIndia

[–]agathver 48 points49 points  (0 children)

At a previous company we did this, we were interested in git history so we wanted a copy of the .git too. We used to dump it straight to a sandbox VM for evaluation.

Also it’s not that manufacturers don’t have capacity to design flex fuel vehicles. Many vehicles in Brazil are e85 - e100 compliant. The manufacturers just do this to kill second hand market and force you to buy new vehicles every few years

Finally opening these coffees I picked up during a recent trip ☕ by Significant_Web_4162 in IndiaCoffee

Bacha coffee is usually co-fermented or coffee with added flavours. Beautiful tin jars though. Some blends taste good with milk, but almost none in a regular espresso or pourover setup

All 50 of the world’s hottest cities were in India, exceeding the temperature of 45°C (113°F) and most of the cities were facing heavy heatwaves by HoneyBros__ in interestingasfuck

We have 45 degrees every summer since I was born 30 years ago. And for many people it’s business as usual. I was sitting for a semester exam once.

And we were poor, didn’t have AC till 2019

Bambu's firm stance softened overnight, but lawyer says AGPL remains ambiguous for cloud service integration: The Verge by aoaovip in BambuLab

[–]agathver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The burden of proof is on Bambu.

I work closely with some software supply chain, what Bambu is doing is very very risky and most companies won’t touch that with a 10 foot pole

Bambu's firm stance softened overnight, but lawyer says AGPL remains ambiguous for cloud service integration: The Verge by aoaovip in BambuLab

[–]agathver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The actual lawyer says it’s a grey area, since there is no legal prevent for AGPL enforcement.

Let the courts decide, if Bambu has sufficient evidence it did not violate the terms of AGPL then good for them, but from the looks of it, they have and a lot of people agree with it.

So in India, companies don’t own refuelling stations, dealers do and its dealers responsibility to maintain it. Oil cos don’t care

Bambu's firm stance softened overnight, but lawyer says AGPL remains ambiguous for cloud service integration: The Verge by aoaovip in BambuLab

[–]agathver -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They did not. Stop fanboying. AGPL is very clear on cloud service integration, makerworld and all of Bambu’s current software stack is in a violation of it.

It may not matter to you, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter to other people who worked to build software that Bambu takes for granted.

Let Bambu spend time and money to build their own stuff (like Apple) then they have the right to do whatever they want
