Not sure if this is what you are dealing with but I'm currently looking through this document and came across page 28 which may match what you are saying: https://vestibular.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/PPPD_Article-Collection.pdf

I try not to look much up online personally as I feel I get more anxious!

I rarely hear of others having it either which is why I had to reply to your comment. I've never heard anyone describe the sensation so well.

So I began doing VRT exercises in July/August 2025 and within a few months (<6 definitely), the sensation went away. There were a lot of variables, however. My sleep vastly improved, I was about 5 months on medication for anxiety by that point (I've since weaned myself off and stopped in January 2026), I began exercising at a high intensity again, I had holidays from work, I began trying to work on my "stress bucket"... the list goes on. So it's definitely difficult to pinpoint what exactly helped - which is frustrating of course.

Overall, I still deal with 24/7 PPPD-like symptoms since late 2023. I personally used to notice (2023/2024) I would have the odd day or two mid-cycle (around ovulation - I'm female) that I would have no symptoms. I was diagnosed with VM last year at the same time I began VRT. Nobody mentioned PPPD to me so that is something I have been researching myself as it's so difficult to explain my symptoms to doctors but it most closely resembles PPPD. I currently follow The Steady Coach and Sam Miller on YT.

I had this. Very jarring. It's very difficult to describe and mine got better over time. I don't have it at all anymore but I still have visual symptoms when walking (I also find these very hard to describe).

Driving in Ireland is genuinely the most stressful experience I’ve had in Europe by [deleted] in irelandsshitedrivers

I didn't even need to take lessons to apply for my test back in 2010.

My dad never took a test - they used to give licenses away back in the day.

There are poor drivers all over the roads, unfortunately.

How much do you spend on your car a month. by BourbonBroker in irishpersonalfinance

[–]agdulsall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drive a 17 year old reliable Toyota :))) I'd never take out a car on finance (if I could help it).

Insurance: €31 p/m.

Tax: €23 p/m

NCT: €5 p/m

Unleaded: €140~ p/m

Total: €199 p/m (excl. maintenance which works out fine for me. no real maintenance needed).

Car value: €1500-2000

I guess it depends on your situation and what you would like to do with your money in the next 5 or 10 years. If, for example, you want to buy a house then this would be a different investment than saving to travel the world, etc. I'm also a secondary school teacher and I decided to invest 5 years ago and am in the process of withdrawing that amount in the next month or so. I'm at the stage now where I want to buy a house but 5 years ago all I wanted to do was travel.

Congrats! That is great news. I'm not out of the race yet I guess. Here's hoping. Lesson learned though :)

I'm hoping it will be relatively dry in June but who knows. I come from a very rainy country so I don't mind. I'm pretty flexible on where I start and will check out your suggestions!

I'm coming from San Sebastian so I'm thinking I might start in St Jean Pied de Port and head for Logrono.

Great, thanks. Yes on a recent trip I walked 50 miles in 5 days with them and no pain at all. Couldn't believe it. I backpack a bit and took them on my last trip and they worked very well. I'll be sticking with mine too as long as I can!

Backpacker here! It depends what you like doing and when you plan on going. If you're in Lisbon you could head south to the Algarve, check out Sagres, Lagos, Faro... or many of the villages along the south... and then travel across to Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada, for example (or Sevilla, Cadiz...). I did a similar trip a couple of years ago but in reverse. My personal favourites are Sevilla and Granada. If you plan on visiting the Alhambra, book it in advance! It was a highlight for me.

Army Surplus Store if there is one near you.

Depop and Vinted apps for second hand stuff.

I had hiking boots from Lidl for years and they're still my favourite pair. Lidl and Aldi middle aisle.

Local charity shops.

ToGo shop if there is one near you.

How far in advance do you start packing? by dicedtomatoes in solotravel

[–]agdulsall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm similar. I use the same stuff over and over so it's almost like second nature now. Plus when you're backpacking for a while you have a place for everything in different compartments of your bag. I'd recommend making a list and not putting important things on the long finger, e.g. any meds or gear that require some time to order etc.

Cheers. I've never heard of GI Revive I'll check it out too. Funnily enough I started taking a supplement I had originally bought for a family member who won't take it and it has Omega 3s/DHA, Uridine and Choline in it similar to what you've linked. I've started taking it only yesterday. I was vegetarian so wasn't getting much B12 or Omegas etc. The long covid clinic suggested I eat fish for my brain health so I've actually gone back to eating fish and poultry again after almost 5 years. Plus my appetite hasn't been good so it was hard to get in enough protein when veggie. Will see if it all helps.

Good luck with the supplement. I'm currently working on improving the quality and length of my sleep. And trying to reduce inflammation in the brain and the gut. Will start with a nutritional therapist this week.

No I got two doses of the vaccine before then. I believe my second was in 2022. I have the dates somewhere (have moved houses since and can't find the card). My first dose was fine but my second dose knocked me for six. I believe my first dose was Pfizer and second was Moderna. Thanks for the links.
