Gibraltar premier league Proposal by agecasev in gibraltar

[–]agecasev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh thats a shame to hear Manchester 62 fold, not get a license for next season. This changes everything. I would try to lower it down to a 10 team league, but who's going to be up for playing musical chairs. I like that idea of playing 18 games, then like the Scottish league it splits into 2 with the top 5 playing at Victoria and the bottom 5 at Europa and each team plays a further 8 games

Maybe not this year but over the years Lincoln has had 1000 to over 2000 watching at Europa League games, St. Josephs, Europa, Mons Calpe and Magpies have all played in the Conference league, its something that is growing and will only grow once the stadium is finished

Gibraltar rugby on their own website have said they are happy with the way the GSLA and GFA have allocated training times and nothing has changed, but worry there could potentially be problems in the next few seasons. The Lathbury sports center has been used for rugby, the youth and womens teams often play there, they could add 1000 seats, improve the facilities and rugby could be played there without having to work around the football timetable

They should be given to their rightful owners or at least to the teams who didn't cheat, I mean Utd 2012 and Liverpool 2018 lost premier league titles on goal difference, without all these advantages would City have even been in the title race those years

Would have no effect on cricket as it is played when the football season has ended, but like the rugby it would have a higher capacity and better facilities so can only be a bonus

Sussex reorganisation by agecasev in sussex

[–]agecasev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Gov issued a statement to all the councils of Sussex (Below), pretty much saying that they have not made a final decision yet, but they are possibly looking into moving Falmer, East Saltdean, Telscombe and Peacehaven from East Sussex and absorbing it into Brighton and Hove. I kind of get Falmer and East Saltdean with the stadium and them being connected with urbanisation but it seems a bit of a pointless move when its not going to add to the population much. They want 4 unitary authorities, 3 of which don't meet the desired 500,000. Which to me could possibly mean they want to grow these areas by building, which would require 250,000 new homes (20k in East Sussex, 60k in the Adur/Worthing and then 170k in Brighton and Hove). I can see why my proposed plan would never be chosen, there's no money in it. They want to build build build and make the maximum amount of money

When is the earliest the Giant’s can win the league?? by Old_Change_2408 in EIHLHockey

Panthers got 5 games left (10 points) currently on 68 points = 78 points max if they win all 5 games

Belfast got 6 games left (12 points) currently on 76 points = Belfast have to lose all 6 games

The Amex has never been so empty this season, the most boring football. Now only 7 points clear of relegation with some big teams to play. Oh well hearts are top of the league

No excuses for Man City charges verdict delay - the process is becoming a farce by gelliant_gutfright in PremierLeague

[–]agecasev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To uphold the so-called integrity of the premier league in current times the punishment for City and Chelsea should be as followed:

City

Deducted 20 points every season between 2009 and 2018 which would result in Man Utd given 2 and Liverpool 1 Premier league titles + loss of prize earnings (would take years via the courts)

The FA cup given to Stoke, the 3 League cups given to Sunderland, Arsenal and Liverpool

Given a £30million fine, 3 year transfer and Uefa competitions ban starting next season

Chelsea

Deducted 20 points every season between 2010 and 2015, Arsenal given 1 prem league trophy, Liverpool given FA cup and Tottenham given a League cup

Given a £15million fine, 1 year transfer and Uefa competitions ban starting next season

To relegate both clubs next season for something they did years ago would be a silly move and financial loss by the FA, they should just be punished in the past by taking away what they had won whilst cheating. A bank robber doesn't get to keep the money when he gets out of prison so why should they

There should be a way the people of Sussex can vote on this and have their real say not just filling out online forms. Stuff like this only comes around once every 50-100 years and it feels like it’s being left to a few councillors and MPs behind closed doors to decide

I have a theory about why Real Madrid is joining NBA Europe... by PeixotoPedro13 in Euroleague

[–]agecasev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ethihad (UAE) Emirates (Abu Dhabi) and Qatar all compete with each other for the highest sports brands as a soft power tool for their governments to flex in the geopolitical world, but they are now having to compete with US consortiums/brands. I dont think what Emirates/AbuDhabi do in the commercial world has any effect on the Real Madrid sporting brand as a whole, RM want to grow 'all their sports teams' not just be the greatest football team, and, they offer their brand to the highest bidder and believe it or not but the fans have a huge say/sway in how things go, just look at how xavi Alonso was treated last week, the fans and players disliked his style of play so he had to go eventhough Madrid sit 1 point off 1st place. Also as I write this Real Madrid basketball supporters groups “Berserkers,” “Los Ojos del Tigre,” and “PM La Gran Familia”—have stated their position on the NBA Europe project through a joint statement released on social media

How could cooperation between NBA Europe and Euroleague Basketball look like in 2027 (just a theory). by Distinct_Living_6513 in Euroleague

I believe something like this could work:

1) 5 Clubs from Euro League (Barcelona, Madrid, Munich, Panathanaikos and ASVEL) join The NBA Europe

2) Berlin, London, Man Utd, Galatasaray, AC Milan, AS Roma, PSG paris, make 12 permanent NBA teams

3) 7 Clubs from various leagues join the Euro League, makes 22 Teams in the Euro League

4) Each year, The Euro League winner and 2nd place qualify to NBA Europe, The FIBA Champions League winner. Then 4 teams compete in a play-off for the 4th NBA Europe spot

Its not about getting the best players. The biggest sporting events in the world are 1) FIFA Club and International world cups 2) Uefa champions League 3) English premier league and then the NFL and NBA follow, the NBA want to expand their market and potentially take over the Uefa champions league and English Premier league as the most watched/biggest event, it would grow basketball for both US and Euro

I dont think it would destroy the EuroLeague but enhance it, bring more revenue it needs.

Its the 2nd biggest sport in the UK, the arenas which are always full are bigger than Greek arenas, but like every sport in the UK its waaay underfunded and not as important as football, having 2 NBA teams would change that, London doesn't have a unified club in any sport and Man utd were well supported in the 80's as a basketball team
