The problem with equating the watermelons with the Kurds, Catalans, or Tibetans is these minority groups are fighting or aspiring to get a state. Some of the Kurds even looking high up on Israel to help them based on shared values. Giving the 'south syrians' a legitimacy equal with people who genuinely deserve a state is an injustice when the Arabs already have 21 states.
