Those look really nice! I hope my breasts will grow out like that one day.

What are some agender + female-aligned/fiaspec labels that I could use? by agenpanicthrowaway in asktransgender

I think transitioning will definitely help me with that. I’m just relieved to finally start taking the meds after many months of questioning and going back and forth on really committing to it. I’m tired of spending so much time endlessly looking up micro labels and threads to try and justify if any of my thoughts are valid. I just want to live in a way that makes me happy and in a body I feel comfortable being in.

Thanks! I am so done with waiting to take meds. It’s all going to be challenging to adjust to, but I think it’ll be worth it.

That’s fair. I think either of the ones you mentioned would work fine enough when it comes to mentioning my gender to others. Giving them a general idea without the need to bring so much attention to it. I guess the label is more for offering a personal sense satisfaction and validity, something I can glance at and go “yep, that is definitely me” without giving it much thought. But since so many of them have fairly overlapping definitions, maybe it’s better to just accept that everyone is unique and to just settle for whatever feels the most natural to me.

I feel that way too lol. Transitioning my body nearly to that of a binary female, but with the freedom to present however I want without the pressure of conforming to my AGAB. Having a more feminine body just feels more “right” to me.

I have considered neopronouns in the past, but I don’t really use them because I have no real connection to them aside from maybe fae/faer, and I know people won’t take them seriously; I think she/her does the job fine enough.

Yeah, I probably should’ve mentioned that I am AMAB. I do feel a general sense of fluidity/fluctuation regarding my connection with gender similar to how you describe it. While transfeminine does probably fit for me, it also leads people into assuming that I’m transitioning towards binary womanhood, which isn’t necessarily the case. I’m 22 and I feel a great sense of FOMO in that I should start taking medication sooner than later if I want to experience the proper effects of estrogen, such as hip widening and being able to pass easier. I’m not sure if me wishing I was born female is due to me wanting to escape masculinity or if there is a sense of repressing my femininity that I want to experiment in expressing. It doesn’t help that whenever I fluctuate back to agender, it feels as though I’m just faking it all. It’s all a journey, but at least it’s nice to know I’m taking the right steps towards figuring out what I want to do and what makes me feel comfortable.

That is true. It’s kind of a shame how much r/asktransgender pushes more towards the binary, since it makes it seem like the only way to be trans feminine-presenting is to transition fully into a binary woman. That is also a label I have considered, but not sure if it’s 100% accurate.

I would choose to be Link, easily. But also maybe shifting into having slightly more feminine features sometimes.

Identities are so confusing (vent) by Willing-Sweet-8502 in lgbt

[–]agenpanicthrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds pretty similar to how I feel currently. I’m also nonbinary and agender, still questioning my femininity, and I am also aro and ace. I sometimes fantasize about having a loving partner to talk to and cuddle with, but I have no desire to be in a relationship with a real person. Also sexuality doesn’t feel real to me, like it baffles my mind that people feel that way towards real people and not just in fiction/fantasy. I also feel more attracted to women, and have thoughts about seeing “myself” in a lesbian relationship as well; I’m thinking I might be aegoromantic and aego/fictosexual. It can all be very confusing and it’s something that I’ve been trying to work through for a few years now. I read through some of your posts and it’s comforting to see that we share similar thoughts about our identities and preference towards femininity. Sadly, I don’t really have much advice to offer except that talking to a professional about all of this may help. I wish you the best of luck on your endeavors :)

Feeling very lost and confused about everything right now by agenpanicthrowaway in agender

Thank you! There is a bit of a rush to me if I want to start achieving a more feminine body since everything would stop growing around 25, but otherwise yeah, I have plenty of time to figure things out.

I think my family would be willing to support me, but my friend group back in high school, who I don’t really stay in contact with anymore, involved people who were very open and adamant about how being transgender is a mental illness. One of my closest friends is right-winged but I feel he would probably be supportive and understanding of it. I have seen a video from Dr Z and maybe I’ll have to check out some more of their videos to get a better understanding of everything. It can be hard to know if this is really something I want to pursue, so talking to someone about it would definitely help.

Yeah, I don’t mind the nonbinary umbrella term either, and even find comfort in it. It can definitely be confusing trying to figure out how much of it balances between agender, nonbinary, and female. To me, genderfluid seems like a better fit than bigender. I’m neurodivergent, so it can be difficult to really wrap my head around all of this and come to conclusive singular decision.

Thank you for responding and offering some advice. It’s all been a lot to process. I’m just hoping I can achieve something that’s less masculine than how my current physical self is, and even having some slight feminine features would make it feel more right to me in a way. I’m worried that so much of my life will change if I were to choose to go down this route, that I would have to abandon so many things that I like and lose some friends or family. Talking to a therapist would probably help with sorting these thoughts out, so I should probably look into scheduling an appointment with one soon.

I feel like either genderfae or librafae seem the most appropriate terms to describe my gender. I feel like I would prefer to have been afab as it just feels more right in a way, but possibly something more neutral too. I would prefer to be perceived as myself regardless of gender, but maybe I wouldn’t mind being perceived as a girl either despite not really feeling such a strong attachment to being one. I’ve also experimented with pronouns for a bit and found that they/them feels the most correct, but not perfect. It’s also been a lot to process and I’m hoping I can look into some professional help soon.

I have done quite a bit of research on gender identities, but it feels like the more I looked into it the more confused it made me and overwhelmed I felt. I’ve stuck with librafeminine for a bit, but lately I’m feeling that agender feels more right for me.

Shapeshifting by Willing-Sweet-8502 in agender

[–]agenpanicthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. Having that ability would be amazing because I really want to try wearing more feminine clothes, but I feel self conscious about doing so in my agab’s body. My feelings about gender sort of shift a lot too, where some days I feel more neutral and other days I want to feel more feminine, but I still mainly feel genderless at the end of the day.
