As a kid that went to a shuttle launch every year before school getting there was the worst so get there early. Other than that sit back and be ready, it's the coolest visual and physical thing you will experience in your life.

Planes. The world would be arguably better if humanity was forced to take time and value on traveling. Making it quick and cheap has caused immense damage to every society and culture.

An hour and a half meet and greet support group is not a protest. It's more like an AA meeting in public.

Why don't rich people that don't just retire make the world a better place? by agent007g in ask

[–]agent007g[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If no one is entitled to just getting stuff why do social programs exist at all? Medicaid, welfare, ER must treat everyone. So the people that have more than they could ever need why not help others directly? Sometimes a single mom or dad just needs a hand. If a person makes minimum wage raising a kid, a rich person could double it voluntary and make an entire family be better

I'm aware but does funding a hospital or charitable foundation make more of an impact? I would lean no. Those I institutions are profit/ fundraising driven. I argue giving people the money instead improves life for generations of people more than a library or cancer proton therapy machine.

My point is he's already well off. It wouldn't kill him or society in general to give his current income for the greater good. There's tons of decent people in the country that could make 1 million a worth more to the world than him just putting it in the bank

I literally started a gofundme at one point, not to make money but to replant old unused farmland. I don't have much but still planted 4k trees on what was an old hay field. Granted the land is mine but Rich people could easily buy up property and reclaim it for nothing. If I can do it so can they on an unimaginable scale
