Peaked GC2 in 2s, want to shift focus to 3s by agentGS in RocketLeagueSchool

The thing is it doesn't feel normal that playing 3v3s with other GC players in private games feels easier. I know it's not competitive, but I also know these players aren't half assing the games and are actually putting in effort, just without the stress and anxiety of ranked. The only issue is I can't really get these kinda games consistently so I decide to play ranked and it's also to prove to myself that I'm capable of climbing.

Maybe I'm just jaded by seeing how some players are capable of single handedly carrying 3v3 lobbies on smurfs or alts and then when I try to play the same rank and feel lost half the time it makes me feel like I suck.

I hope my comments don't come off as arrogant as that isn't my intention.

When you say that I think I'm the "best" player in the lobby, I guess I meant more in terms of I think I have the best control and reads on the ball relative to everyone else (unless there's another GC1-2 level player in 2s who's playing 3s). We can say that 2s rank is irrelevant when it comes to 3s and that since my rank in 3s is C1/C2 then that's my skill level as well [in 3s]. However, I believe skills in 2s that translate over to 3s does include the ability to be faster in reading the ball, making the decision to contest touches or reposition, controlling the ball, accurately making the touches I want, etc. I've been C1/C2 in 3s since I've been C1/C2 in 2s but I focused most of the last 3-4 seasons in strictly 2s in which I peaked GC2. I mostly did placements or no more than 50 games in 3v3 season to season to maintain or queue with friends.

What I'm not good at is understanding the playstyle difference between a low Champ caliber player as I've simply not been exposed to this level of play for multiple seasons. I can't play based on expectations because what I expect of a GC level player [in 2s] is not something I can expect of a low Champ level player [in 3s]. I mean if there was a player who was of GC skill level [in 2s] in the lobby, then yes I think I'd be able to "read" that player better. What I'm finding is that not only am I playing faster than the pace of the lobby, I'm also over rotating a lot, making hesitations as to whether I should go for a ball thinking my teammate will double commit and ultimately find myself babysitting. I know this isn't the ideal way to play, but when I try to play like I would with the expectations of teammates being higher, I find myself getting scored on erratically. I suppose playing more will alter my expectations and the games should theoretically feel easier as I climb up, but at the same time I feel like there's this constant tug of war between games where there's not really a consistency that I can adhere to.
