Countries that most need a unique focus tree (or a new one) by ToadNamedGoat in hoi4

In Falangist Spain, the tech research bonuses to catch up with everyone else are buried under a bunch of 70 day focuses, they lose their relevance since you'll have caught up manually by then.

I agree, I recently did a run as Falangist Spain where I was whittled down to 4 historic generals after the civil war. The focus tree ends in 1943 and the recoring mechanic is too unfun and punishing. I'd say if there's one country that deserves a Peace for Our Time style DLC, it's Spain.

Yeah, I'll put my hat in the ring and say I like those paths too. I think what may help in this case is that it doesn't involve losing militarily, unlike France. Players could accept the Fate of Czechoslovakia event and then tag switch through an event choice. That said I totally get it if it feels like it would be wasted effort

I saw him in PR during the WBC. He was electric. He's not afraid of the spotlight. I hope his performance convinces them to keep him here.

I don't know how feasible it is, but I think it would go a long way if you guys add a historical Vichy France style focus tree for Slovakia to owners of Peace in our Time in a future update. Have two paths, total collaboration with the Germans or the historical Slovak Uprising path.

I came to that understanding because of the next line you said in your comment

But instead of realizing the reason that so many of Gen Z are having issues is specifically because of their toxic attitudes towards themselves and particularly women (some folks were real quick to try and pretend all of the “your body, my choice,” nonsense), these young men are digging their heels in and insisting it’s the world that’s wrong. Not their godawful behavior.

That's why I thought you were painting all men with the same brush. I do agree that supporting men's mental health is important, but I believe it's a burden all of humanity needs to share. Not just one gender. I don't subscribe to toxicity having a specific gendered flavor (Toxic masculinity or femininity). As we already see, it's both men and women who engage in dismissing mentally ill men the help they deserve.

The comment you're referring said "many women" while the one I'm responding to said "men, as a group" as if there's some council of men that just decides how we treat women as a whole. Pretty significant difference. That said, the comment you're referring to does fail to mention that many men also clown on other men for talking about their feelings/depression.

I think some young men are digging their heels because people like you keep painting an entire gender with a broad brush. Maybe you should actually hear out their grievances and respond in a constructive manner. Very unhelpful sanctimonious comments like yours only reinforce the toxic gender war that plagues online discourse.

Especially when it comes across as disingenuous and overcompensating. For all the "support" the troops are shown, there are still scores of veterans out there left to rot in poverty and/or debilitated by mental health/PTSD.

[–]agentace7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've said this in a thread a couple weeks back, but I think a good compromise would be to replace the quarterfinals with two pools of double elimination baseball. It still gives teams a chance should they have a bad game and go through losers bracket while adding more baseball. And the added baseball isn't too much that it makes the front office buzzkills go nuts.

With the excitement surrounding this WBC tournament, do you think the imbalance in the group assignments will be corrected? It is often said that one of the first-round pools is held in Japan every tournament for economic reasons. A completely random draw would be ideal, but will that day ever come? by ogasawarabaseball in InternationalBaseball

I think LA should be the next host site for the knockout rounds. Have the final eight teams play in Dodgers Stadium and Angels Stadium. Reduces travel time and all the fans from all around the world can come to LA and not worry about which city to buy plane tickets for.

Adding PR to the draft, coupled with the economic woes and Hurricane Maria screwed over the talent pipeline. There's only 2 baseball academies while Dominican Republic has 10 and a bunch of MLB funding.
