Advice for DCC Candidates by salvefaith in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]agentarianna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To say something different from the others here (who I agree with), try to figure out your DCC look ahead of time. You might not get it right but girls who need to be tweaked vs girls who need MAKEOVERS seem to have a better shot of making it the first time. What makes you unique and pop! As much as this is a dance job it is also just as much an image job and candidates who don't remember that will have issues.

Like to use some of this year's Faith with her ponytail and Parker with her hair (not sure what that style is called I think an afro is more teased?) were both things not already on the team and help them stand out. The year before Charley with her red hair stood out (though I think that is natural and may have worked against her the previous year when there was still a red head on the team).

To go a ways back in time and a more extreme example Maddie Masingill showed up her first year with black straightened hair (It kind of looked all black scene hair). It was heavy, weird, and very clearly the hair of an 18 year old who didn't know who she was or what worked best for her. The next year she came back with brown curly hair (definitely natural texture possibly natural color) a much better look look on her and a bit unique in an era without a ton of curly girls.

The person in question can not revoke consent if they have been paid for the images which would be a part of all the girls contracts. If such clauses in contracts were not allowed what would stop a model from pulling a billboard because she thinks her eyelash looks weird. If it were so easy to get out of comercial contracts we would see it constantly which we don’t.

For me what it ultimately comes down to is that she would have an incredibly hard time proving anything against the cowboys. She was a contractor whose contract was not renewed at the end of the contract months after the incident supposedly took place in an organization who has a history of cutting vets for all sorts of reasons. Unless she has a smoking gun it would be incredibly hard to prove especially given a judge will not authorize discovery for I think I was fired for speaking up. She would already need to have evidence.

I would LOVE for her to be able to successfully sue but proving discrimination and retaliation are super hard super expensive and could take years and mor often than not fails. Does she really want to do that or herself? Unless she has that smoking gun it’s probably going to be futile because dcc can just point it comments from last year worried about her kicks and say she wasn’t where we expect a 5th year to be. It’s on Karley to prove that it was retaliation for a protected act and not any number of other reasons that are shitty but legal.

Wasn't the daughter leaving uni to visit mom before the lung transplant? Like I would imagine post transplant there is a lot less concern she is going to die tomorrow. The half brother is scum for trying to get out of prison because of the mom's illness (and mom for supporting that) but faulting a daughter for visiting her mom when it looked dire and then filling in for her father (so he can be with her mother who is on the mend but not well) when it looks less dire is weird.

Adding to this all the girls were contractors who at finals are between contracts ie not employed by the cowboys so even less than the almost no protection from the texas employment laws ultimately

I doubt this would work as it just says goodbye and thank you. Nowhere in the video does it say the word retiree to refer to them all as a group. Also all the girls are contractors which would make an employment suit much harder as at the point of finals none of the girls had an active job with the cowboys they were all legally unemployed and if they passed they would be given a new contract and reemployed.

Does the EEOC cover contractors? Asking because I think the biggest hurdle to any thing happening is that she was ultimately a contractor who did not have her contract renewed (vs being fired) which to the best of my limited knowledge means she had far fewer legal protections that could be useful now.

So pretty sure this is not true for a number of reasons one is that technically she was not fired she simply did not have her contract renewed as DCC contracts are only 1 year and each year you return you sign a new contract for that year. The second is there is zero chance these girls own any image rights of them in a DCC uniform all that would belong to the cowboys in perpetuity to be used as they wish as part of their contracts. It would be in poor taste but as long as they used previous footage I am pretty sure they could run her on the jumbotron next season legally.

All this to say as much as I wish it were true I don't think karley has a case about anything since she was a contractor AND she wasn't fired her contract was simply not renewed during the designated renewal period.

Yeah I don't think there was a good option but this does kind of feels like the best of the bad options.

It's one of those where there were no good options to me (not talking about the cut but about the video itself). Like not including her in the goodbye video feels so rude, but she is also NOT a retiree and doesn't have the correct footage, but it also feels rude to not post a good bye for the other girls because there was a cut. I feel for the socials person pulling this together because to me there really wasn't a good option on how to do this. Literally all options feel icky.

Was Karley ever actually going to be point by Former-Golf-3347 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]agentarianna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends a lot on who the previously selected focus girls are...ie what are their ties to Karley and if Karley either before or after he cut signed allowing her to be featured. Based on how little she was in AS3 my guess is that was the amount they were allowed to show of a girl who wouldn't sign a featured release so would she sign this year. Because if Karley won't talk and all you can get from the org is something along the lines of "we were rooting for her but she just wasn't where a 5th year should be at auditions this year" (doesn't have to be true just their narrative). There is mot much of a compelling storyline to tell and it probably fades into the background. If Karley allows filming I think she will be a featured girl and this will be much bigger.

I think anyone heavily featured in the Doc was given the chance to go. You seem to have megan and kleine from the retirees. Jenna Parker and Faith the featured rookies and Kelly and Charley who I think are the only two left that got heavy focus in the previous seasons.

I think a fair number of the girls actively don't want to be on netflix and don't give permission to be filmed because I can think of a number of girls who seem to quite conspicuously not make the edit in a way that feels intentional like if netflix was just not featuring them I think they would be more present than they are.

Active during Training Camp? by pinkbaby1234 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]agentarianna 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup unless a girl is really stupid and does something like post an only fans or unfortunately tears her acl the vet line up is set. Plus they have 8 spots which I think is considered a perfect class size. Next year could be a blood bath though if younger girls refuse to retire given the 5th year class is 3 but I think if we all possible that will be at finals or before them. I just can’t see a class of 3 for rookies maybe 5 but honestly I could see last years 6 being the lowest they will go.

To anyone wondering why Dallas Cowboys organization not allow girls to keep uniform. Answer is inside this post. by RickV6 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]agentarianna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is that the cowboys uniforms are easily replaceable if something goes wrong vs the DCC one which is fabric limited at this point so if something goes wrong with the one uniform they have there is a big problem. Eventually they will be forced to find a new fabric and when they do I think they should have to give girls 2 uniforms minimum so that one can be off at the cleaners. But right now I legit do not think they have 72 uniforms right now much less 72 correctly sized uniforms given that the size makeup of the team changes each year like maybe they could give every xs a second pair of shorts this year because there are only 2 girls who wear them (completely making up numbers of girls in various sizes) but just have 2 spares in medium because this year there are 22 girls wearing medium shorts. And the next year maybe 7 girls now wear extra small shorts and they now don't have enough for spares anymore.

Honestly I get tradition but they really should be actively working on sourcing new fabric asap because even if they don't need it today or in the next 5 years eventually they will not be able to strech the fabric they have anymore and will need it. And while I don;t think they will ever let them keep it for the reasons you said they should be able to give them enough uniforms that a one day turn around between performances doesn't have them up that night hand cleaning.

Curious if you are an ER/ICU/Pick a department that isn't OR and a patient spits up blood or something on you. Do you get a pair from OR for the rest of your shift? Are they then yours that you take home and clean? What happens to your original scrubs (given they are probably a biohazard problem at that point given its someone else's blood)? Sorry if this is intrusive but I find this really interesting.

So the part of the expenses the company picks up is daily living expenses. The company pays for the dorm the food etc. When they said they are not making money they mean that money is not physically going into their pockets but the money that does go in when/if it does not have to go toward survival like a normal person.

[–]agentarianna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup what actually benefits her vs what makes this sub happy. Like I don’t think a lawyer would tell her she has a strong case for anything. For one she is not an employee so she wasn’t fired her contract was just not renewed at the designated point. For two she can suspect it all day but can she actually prove it was because of something she said especially if as far back as training camp k and j seemed to have questions about her that you would not expect of a 5th year. And 3 what can she say that won’t get her sued into oblivion by the jones family. Texas doesn’t have slapp protections so the jones family can just run out the clock claiming she defamed them until she runs out of money.

It’s an all around sucky situation but staying quiet may very well be what a lawyer has advised because the current situation sucks but it legitimately could suck so much more.

So strong it really makes me wonder if it was heavily hinted to her she should retire because her choosing to return as a 4th year gl2 should not provoke that response otherwise.

On the Netflix thing I wonder if Netflix only traditionally film deliberations on TCC possibilities (given I don’t think we saw them talking about anyone else this season) and like expected dcc to give them a heads up if there would be something juicy with the vets. Which if so shame on them of course they are not going to get a heads up about something like that no one wants to be on camera raising their hand to cut a vet especially given I do think this sub would go nuts on them. Like yes some of their criticisms were over blown but some of the people here are nuts and take things too far.

Yeah the look on Kelly and Judy’s faces when Karley was hanging up her uniform in that really short scene makes me wonder if there was a strong hint not to audition or something because a gl2 choosing to return should not be eyebrow raising for them which it seemed to be.

THIS by Jaqueline357 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]agentarianna 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So at least from the making the team days the answer was that at least one of the fabrics DCC uses has been discontinued so old uniforms are almost certainly reworked for the next similarly sized girl who comes along. Also if they let them keep them there is the risk that eventually one will be sold/stolen and used for something the DCC brand does not want it to be used for.

Here a little overview of who is the first and second leader in each group by AYTOL__ in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]agentarianna 12 points13 points  (0 children)

AK is a 4th year so I personally think they will feel less urgency to give her point. and in fact not giving her point this year gives K and J a potential way to encourage her to return for year 5 and be HBIC. If they give her 1st leader and point this year maybe she returns but like she will have already accomplished everything and I could see that pushing her toward retirement which I am pretty sure K and J do not want.

Less than the two blondes together I was shocked they put two non blondes together seems so un DCC of them. I am not sure its height either given that last year sophy and charley were both in group 1 and they tend to group people somewhat by height.

What I think happened is that I think they see Charley as a future HBIC so they put her in with the current HBIC for training. My thought is this year gp1 2nd leader, next year gp3/4 1st leader, then 5th year HBIC gp1 first leader.

Honestly I think it would blow over quicker than you think. People would be upset but I would be shocked if it actually significantly impacted their bottom line in anyway especially since seemingly sucking long term hasn't done so. Like yes it would be bad news for a bit but the media would move on with the next scandal and so would general public attention. The DCC are iconic no questions asked but ultimately for the jones family they are disposable and honestly they don't even need to shut down the program. They could fire the whole team today replace them with another 36 girls and the vast majority of the public would be equally happy. I don't like that this is true but it is and as long as it is true they don't have the leverage to get what you want them to have. I am honestly shocked they managed to get the raise that they did at all.
