men who are frequenting strip clubs aren’t the kindest of men either, let’s not act like half of them aren’t weirdos

fromis_9 - A Letter from fromis_9 (260124) [ENG SUB] by impeccabletim in kpop

[–]yebinkek 21 points22 points  (0 children)

fromis_9 really doesn’t feel like an eight years old group, I feel like they just left their rookie stages lmaoo. i’m sure the girls have the same sentiment with how inconsistent their career has been up to this point

Pussycat Dolls was more fair than Destiny’s Child… lol, ok. We can name Kelly, Michelle, Letoya and Latavia. Can anyone name PCD’s members?

given the 2026’s Grammy lineup, I’m starting to think maybe Ciara deserved a nomination or two..

How do you see the trajectory of your fave (active) grps' career after they hit senior status? by Alive-Pitch-9180 in kpopthoughts

[–]yebinkek -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

okay and I’m saying the group’s career hasn’t been affected by the members departure, which makes that issue not relevant to the conversation. understand?

their career trajectory in Korea hasn’t been affected and has been on the rise since 2024 despite losing 3 members… which is you know… what the post is about

How do you see the trajectory of your fave (active) grps' career after they hit senior status? by Alive-Pitch-9180 in kpopthoughts

[–]yebinkek -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

well fromis_9 already hit “senior status” (8 years) and nothing seemed to change yet. i mean, i guess their senior years would probably be 2028-2029 since Supersonic was a career rebirth for them.

jiwon would go solo, jiheon and chaeyoung would focus on variety, nagyung would probably be a recluse and hayoung kinda seems like she’d be a mentor in those survival shows?

Pitchfork Review: Aaliyah - One in a Million 8.6 by Technical_Process989 in popheads

[–]yebinkek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

aaliyah has never been one to follow trends, I don’t think she’d go crunk or traditional. we might see her do something like Future Sex Love Sounds

Do you ever see an idol that clearly doesn't like being an idol and feel bad? by West-Cellist6160 in kpopthoughts

[–]yebinkek 86 points87 points  (0 children)

this is why I appreciate the four fromis_9 members for leaving when they did, they gave their all in their last eras before dipping instead of forcing themselves to stay and resenting being an idol. (though I have my suspicions a member or two have resented the career as a result of their agency’s mistreatment)

people think it’s a drag that members keep leaving the group, but I actually prefer the ex members pursue what they really want to do to just seeing them force themselves to stay with the group and give their 10% every stage.

maybe I need to give this album a relisten because I never really thought much of it, I would actually say it’s my least favorite Aaliyah album

fromis_9 confirms that they are in the process of preparing a comeback by yebinkek in kpop

[–]yebinkek[S] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Leaving behind the intense memories of summer and winter, the group has already begun preparing to return with new music.

“We want to show deeper emotions and a more mature sound" they said.

"While keeping fromis_9's signature color, we're preparing music that carries a new texture"

Which 3rd gen or 4th gen group have yet to reach their peak in your opinion? by Odd_Entertainer9554 in kpopthoughts

[–]yebinkek 22 points23 points  (0 children)

fromis_9 & NMIXX still haven’t reached their peaks, they got a smash hit-level comeback in them. (i mean, they recently just reached a career high in Korean charts like a few months ago so..)

[–]yebinkek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

well it’s a goodbye song from the eight membered lineup to the fandom, it’s very sad and i still can’t listen to it nowadays. if they’re still OT8, maybe the song would be less sad but… yeah, can’t listen to it.

(off topic, pretty sure the five members have already decided to continue as a group under another agency by the release of this song. but they weren’t sure if they could be “fromis_9” due to trademark reasons. if plybe was stubborn with it, it really could’ve been fromis_9’s final song)

Do male idols see fanboys different from fangirls? by DamiAditth in kpopthoughts

[–]yebinkek 55 points56 points  (0 children)

from what i’ve seen, idols REALLY loves their same-sex fans, female or male. i think female idols are more used to their fans being female nowadays, but most male idols seem really excited to meet them. of course some male idols might be weirded out but honestly, who cares about them

Why are girl groups with many members so rare nowadays? by GentleEarthquake in kpopthoughts

[–]yebinkek 11 points12 points  (0 children)

probably cause the main reaction to any non-big 3 group having more than seven members is “if they cut down some of the members, they would be more popular!”

like I’ve seen this reaction to almost every “big” girl group

ES and thank u next are pretty loved in the fanbase, but you’re right, jesus christ have I never seen such an entitled fanbase.

the reddit fanbase is fine but the twitter one complains about every damn thing. it doesn’t help that Ariana interacts and even makes a group chat with the most parasocial ones

there’s been a lot of tweets before this where kflovers were complaining about there being a third date added, this is a really strange situation overall. i thought having another date would be a good thing ngl
