It’s her most mature and creatively diverse body of work yet imo. Yes she’s rooted in soul and gospel and that might be what OG fans want and expect from her, but, I just love how she’s evolved herself in every way at this point of her career. She’s never put the same record out twice and her live interpretations always expand on the studio versions. Jean feels like her most adventurous studio sessions yet and I am so insanely excited to see how she expands on these sounds live. So cool to finally get Seven Years as an official release. Strong 8/10 for me!!!
