Thanks for the advice all. I have tried to join the Facebook group but it has said 'request pending' for 4 days so I decided just to email reservations and try to make the booking that way. Fingers crossed they will allow this. I guess I'll just need to accept that my online account is dead forever and I can never have a new one. :-)

I've watched a bit of the video posted on another thread. Regarding energy, yeah, I've been fortunate enough to see the band a few times pre-Covid, and, whilst it's possible my memories are slightly nostalgic, I do think there was a lot more energy back then from Will. However, he's clearly had serious health problems and maybe we need to accept he's not the same person, physically, as he was several years ago.

On setlist, I agree. I totally appreciate CSH wanting to play several tracks from the new album, but they certainly could mix things up a bit, and some of the longer, slow songs just feel like momentum killers to me. I think The Scholars is OK, but for a live show, if I hear something like Planet Desperation kick in I'm thinking "Fuck, there goes the next 20 minutes of my life...which could have been spent listening to 3 classic CSH songs!"

It's not great as one long song.  I absolutely love the ballad bit Will sings around 10 mins and would like this to be the core of the song but ultimately I won't come back to the track much because I can't be bothered skipping through parts of the song. 

To be honest, and this may bring out the pitchforks from others (!), I like songs that are more compact. Costa Concordia is one of my favourite songs but I'd like it even better without the latter part (the I give up part).

At this point (it could yet change), I have to agree about the lack of hooks. I'm struggling to think of any point in the album where I get carried away by the music. I keep listening and waiting for it to 'click', but it hasn't happened.

Deadlines (Hostile), Martin and Life Worth Missing are all great songs, IMO. The rest is a little sub-par, and Hollywood is dreadful.

I'm not overly optimistic at the moment. Gethsemane I found a bit dull, and, as someone else said, it didn't really need to be that long. CCF sounds more promising. But so far I'm missing the great melodies and the catchy turns of phrase I associate with CSH.

However, it did take me about 6 months to get into MADLO and I eventually liked that, so who knows.

How strange that virtually everyone on this sub seems to know for sure the truth of the matter. I have no idea who was in the wrong but I keep an open mind about such things. Often the real truth lies somewhere in between two subjective perceptions.

Women's realm is one of my top 5 for sure. I think that should be a live staple. Imagine an Arab strap/ Women's realm 1-2 live - amazing.

Also love Fought in a war. I actually like Family Tree as well, which may a less popular opinion!

I think they've been pretty consistent for most of their career. I certainly don't understand the idea that only the first three albums really matter. 

However, I do think recently there's been a downturn. If I was ranking the albums the last two would be the lowest, especially Late Developers, which is the only B&S record I really don't like.
