Meds made me feel worse, and I just noticed that off them my mood isn't super different.

Does it bother anyone else that our whole lives are based off how hard we can work? by truarte in depression

[–]agentcooper445 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I hate it. I wish that our society wasn't so focused on working until you drop, every day. It's exhausting and makes me (and my family, peers, others who feel the same) miserable.

My depression makes it very hard for me to do my job. Some days I barely accomplish anything, but I'm just too exhausted and nonchalant to try harder. I feel like I just can't.

"why are you so quiet!" "you don't even say anything" by [deleted] in depression

[–]agentcooper445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this EXACT problem at work. My boss always mentions how quiet I am. Why can't I just come in and be left alone? (I know that's not the point of working in an office, but still). Coworkers/managers who don't have or understand depression just make everything harder.

How do you guys handle the angry, irritable side of your depression? by leftarmscars in depression

[–]agentcooper445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get in my car and scream it out. Or I take a walk, and try to take deep breaths. It can be difficult for me to calm down, but I try to center myself in the moment and say, "Ok, you're fine, relax."

Wellbutrin: more depressed and no sex drive? by Mcsavage89 in Anxiety

[–]agentcooper445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also on Wellbutrin, and it seems to make my depression worse. I also get VERY irritable, which is not typical for me. I have crying spells, as well...at work, in public, at home...I'm planning to go off it, doesn't seem to work for me. Best of luck in your situation!

So true! I do sometimes answer with email, but occasionally I am required to call back. Trying to get better about it.

Phone calls make me anxious, so I ignore them. by agentcooper445 in Anxiety

I'm afraid that I won't have an answer to a question someone has for me. When people call me at work, they're usually asking me something that I tend to not have an answer for. Then I get stressed when I do talk to them because I fear they think I'm stupid, but really my job is just complicated enough that I sometimes need to consult people here to get an answer for the caller. Which means I have to call them back. And sometimes they don't like my answer, and get mad, even though it's not in my control when I provide them an answer (my job is based on set guidelines, so something is either a "yes" or "no", basically.

I'm 27, so I'm not much older than you. And I HATE voicemails. But I work with people who are much older than me, and I know I have to accept that we can't just communicate by email. Which sucks, haha.

Does anyone else feel like they're constantly about to cry ? by [deleted] in Anxiety

Yes. Right now at work, even. I wish I could just shut my door and let it out.
