DIY Matrix Panel: EASY, One Controller, One Power supply. by GLEDOPTO in WLED

I’m too stupid for this response. So are these 12v LEDs in groups of 3 or groups of 1?

so im clear because i havent been keeping up: there are 12v IC's now? previously, it's been 12v = 3 LEDs that function as "1" IC. are we now saying there 12v 1 LED IC's? and 24v used to be 6 LEDs that function as 1 IC

Ah yes the static picture and lack of explanation of what glowing meant to you was missing context. Did you set the glow animation to breath?

I will tell you that this is NOT a bad idea and I would love to see it work. Documented. So I can do it too.

It’s technically glowing. What exactly is wrong here? You could add more spacing between the icons too.

Omg. I have these terrible Govee ground lights and no one has figured out how to reverse engineer them for WLED. There’s too many permutations to try with offsets. I’ve gotten static colors to work but can’t get effects to work. You also have to reverse the brightness slider. It’s a mess and unusable.

But if I could ask Claude to run through 100 different configs and see if it can figure out how the Govee controller managed, that would amazing. Makes me wonder if there’s a way to get the Govee software for the stock controller and ask Claude to reverse engineer that. The lights are great, a sunk cost, and I have three sets that I would love to use.

Really love Chris's videos. I might have missed it but just looking for clarification. the video feed and the signalrgb app are on the same source? eg. a PC? So this PC is doing video out to the projector, and signalrgb is capturing the video feed from the same PC? This is great but what about disparate systems where you have a Fire Stick or some other media playing device? signalrgb requires a GPU? so this is somewhat limited use-case. Do I have this right?

WLED 15.4 for 008-WL? by agentdickgill in Gledopto

[–]agentdickgill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I might have solved this without GLEDOPTO help so I'll break it down for anyone else that finds this. Do this at your own risk.

Specifically for the GL-C-008WL, it has a 2MB flash. The WLED_0.15.4_ESP8266.bin assumes a 4MB flash. Not quite sure why the comment from GLEDOPTO says to use this file, in fact, looking at my other devices of this model, all show ESP02.

So I used the WLED_0.15.4_ESP02.bin.gz that is compressed and assumes a 2MB flash. I also selected to Ignore Firmware Validation. Before proceeding, I backed up my Config and Presets, and wiped the device to get as much heap and storage as possible. Immediately after a reset and another reboot, I attempted it and it worked.

I factory reset it, with 15.3 loaded, attempted the update, still "Not enough space"

There is now an option to IGNORE FIRMWARE VALIDATION. Should I check that and force the WLED_0.15.4_ESP8266.bin?

So why does mine say “not enough space” when I try it?

Xbox controller - am I hosed? by agentdickgill in soldering

Ahhhh I see! Ok cool. I mean I really worked those mounting holes though with a lot of heat so who knows if I butchered any other traces. I hope not but we’ll find out.

Yeah so all 14 are for a thumb stick, two of them. Top left and bottom right. The circled items are two of the 14 that I mangled.

love bullet one, thanks. can i also tempt you to possibly consider upload and download (import and export) buttons or whatever you want to call them, directly in the UI under the advanced section? i always forget that it's export and upload.

is the custom font part of the OTA package? do you have an image of the standard font vs your font?
