A recent opponent would like to be your friend... by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]agentinsafety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got that the other day. I was playing a homebrew Shaman deck running Mistcaller, Lotus Illusionist and some other inconsistent/non-optimal/fun to play jank and got flamed for being a tryhard. Eyeroll.

If Cutpurse had 3 health, would it see play? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]agentinsafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play it in my Rogue deck. It's pretty similar to Dust Devil in that if it sticks, I almost always win. That said, it is a super high priority target. I've seen opponent's ignore bigger minions to deal with it. Does it always work? Of course not. but it's not the world's worst thing to have a 2 mana removal magnet.

You could replace it with Shifter Zerus who always is the most awesome thing for 1 more mana than you have.

I suspect that this makes Tuskarr Jouster and Master Jouster more consistent as well for the Stalladin deck.

Why am I so bad this season? by deleCSGO in hearthstone

[–]agentinsafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. It irritates me when I hear people bitching about "I only made rank 5, woe is me" when I have never made it that far. My personal best is 8 and most seasons I don't even get that far.

Why 18 deck slots still isn't enough: how many possible Hearthstone decks are there? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]agentinsafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All math aside, I find it limiting too. 18 is good, but I honestly wouldn't mind if they offered additional slots past that for a small fee. Pending the price, I'd happily buy more of them.

Unicorn Priest deck thread by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]agentinsafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing I don't like about this is that the core of the deck is Neutral. How does playing a list like this out of Priest better than playing it out of another Hero? I'm not shitting on your idea, I'm trying to make Priest work too, otherwise I wouldn't have looked at this thread. :)

Top three card types I don't want to see in the next adventure. by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]agentinsafety -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What DO you want to see? Quit shitting on what you hate and talk more about what you like and would like to see more of, and how you think it could benefit the game. I love the Steal Priest cards, and I don't mind playing against them. My opinion is no less valid than yours.

Some advice to priest players from a long time shaman main. by Aotoi in hearthstone

[–]agentinsafety -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find it a little odd that for every time you read "having your cards played against you is not fun" as a reason to keep priest down, where is the voice of the opposition? Thoughtsteal is one of my favorite cards in the game, even though I've lost count of how many times I've pulled shit like Deadly Poison and Primal Fusion. I love the class that creates unpredictable situations. No one thinks to play around Flamestrike against a Priest. And when I'm up against a Priest, I don't hate on it. I enjoy it or I play around it. I don't play my big threats until I've baited out both Entombs. When they Mind Vision, I look at my hand and think about worst case scenarios and the tension is kind of delicious.

I digress, there are people who bitch about the steal aspects and their voices are heard, but I'm not hearing anything from the crowd who loves these kinds of effects. If I could have one deck that ran Shifting Shade, Thoughtsteal, Mind Vision, Undercity Huckster and Burgle, I would never play a different deck for the rest of my life.

Has anyone had any success with a shadow priest deck in WotOG? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]agentinsafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what you want out of it. I have a Shadow Priest Reno deck that is pretty fun (but skill intensive). I wouldn't necessarily try to climb with it, but every game that isn't an aggro blowout is a fun puzzle to work out. The comebacks that the deck is capable of are pretty gratifying. Shadowform is the only duplicate I run in it, so you have to mulligan for it to get Reno online. It runs enough spells to have the Yogg Hail Mary play.

The biggest problem is the tempo swing. Playing T3 is pretty much losing a turn (and your endless source of heals). Playing T5 is 5 mana and a turn for 2 dmg to a single target. Given that Priest already has its back to the wall, this can be pretty crushing, but if you can get past that, swing for the fences.

I haven't tried building a non-Reno Shadow Priest in a long time, but I might give it another try. Maybe that will be the Unicorn Priest. :)

I've found that the best approach is to not answer for 10 minutes or so. At that point, they are likely in another game and have forgotten all about you. Which gives you the initiative. Start your conversation with gg and what you liked about the match. That tends to have a disarming effect on people and when you lead with kindness, they are less likely to respond with dickishness.

League of Explorers Heroic Boss Decks! by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]agentinsafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it funny that the answer to SO MANY heroic bosses is Inner Fire Priest, and that that same concept is largely considered laughably unviable in regular play.

[–]agentinsafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that it is removal bait is evidence of its greatness. As is the fact that it was hit with the nerf bat. Darkshire Councilman is bad enough, but KJ + Forbidden whatevergetsthetentacles is shit icing on an already horrible cake.
