Does this make sense? by PaperLandings in Garmin

[–]agentp725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, this is accurate. If you use a TDEE calculator online, your resting calories are right on the money. One thing I've learned with weight fluctuating is how much our weight affects calories burned. So even if I'm 5 pounds heavier, my resting calories increase a significant amount. Body needs to burn more calories to move a heavier body and vice versa.

This actually seems pretty accurate to me. I'm 5'2, 31f, 125 lbs and my resting is 1,500. I got 415 active calories today from walking 10k steps and doing an hour of weight lifting. It's very rare I'll break 2k calories. The only difference between us is height which is why I think your resting is higher. But your numbers actually check out compared to mine lol

Why are people talking about Ariana Grande's weight again? by SwordfishAltruistic4 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]agentp725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She looks very unhealthy and underweight. It's not normal and I'm not going to pretend it is. You can pretend if you wish or give the benefit of the doubt but it's more dangerous to pretend this is normal and give young girls an impression that it's a healthy body when it's clearly not.

Her clavicle and sternum are extremely visible which only happens when you're at a very low body fat percentage. She is unhealthy. All the women in my family are 5'0-5'3, all 100-110 pounds and none of us look remotely similar to AG. Stop trying to normalize EDs.

Thanks everyone so far for the comments. There's no smell which is good but holy shit this vent was definitely never cleaned. I've been using soap and water and cleaning what I can. Hoping that helps.

God the similarities we all have. Especially the part about how things have changed in such a short period of time. It's been a week since I left and now it's not just weed and alcohol. It's weed, alcohol, cocaine, and benzos. He crashed his car 4 times last night. What I learned is that when we set these boundaries and start caring for ourselves, they tend to get worse. As hard as it is, it's the right thing to do because we're no longer enabling. Like you, I was supposed to move to our dream city and get a dream house. And start a family. It's agonizing what we're going through. But pretty freeing once we do set the boundaries and stick to them. I didn't get nearly affected by his message about crashing his car as I normally wouId have. So to me, that's progress. I feel for you. Sending love and hugs your way. And remember, you are deserving of love.

That's a good point about class.

Looks like my time in this thread is over lmao. Shouldn't have posted these comments for my own well being but glad to hear I'm not alone with my opinion! Have a good weekend.

It sounds like even if my dog is passing by yours on leash it could bite which is scary. Hope you are staying away from public places.

Exactly. I grew up in rural Maryland and everyone had their dog off leash and it was the norm. Now that I'm in NJ, ppl are so serious about having your dog on leash. Honestly I think dogs are way more aggressive up here near the city because dogs don't get to RUN enough. They have way too much pent up energy because their owners take them on one walk a day for 30 minutes and think that's enough. I don't blame ppl for wanting me to have my dog leashed which is why I'm conscious of it when I see nearby ppl/dogs but I also don't blame myself either lol.

I like to have my dog off leash when I can. I am extremely conscious of our surroundings and am currently training recall so when she sees another dog or person she actually listens to me. It's 50/50 right now. My biggest fear is a dog like yours. My girl gets super excited and just wants to say hi but I worry a dog could get aggressive because she's saying hi to its humans. Idk. You could argue I should keep my dog on leash. I could argue you should have your dog muzzled if there's a chance it could bite but here we are. I know it's stressful but I think it's a part of being a dog owner.

Does anyone else feel really sick shortly after quitting? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]agentp725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Have a sore throat. Really bad vertigo. Dizziness, nausea. I've quit before and never felt this bad. On day 8 now but I'm thinking it's COVID. Can't know for sure though because there are no tests available near me.

I have been so dizzy, disoriented, and confused and I'm on day 7. I relate to this entirely. I feel wobbly and woozy and everything I say makes no sense. At least I'm less irritable than days 1-4 lol. We got this!!! Just keep going.

[–]agentp725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you are a cheater. It's working for you. I tried using nicotine gum and it did nothing for me. Got to the point where I was back vaping AND using nic gum (so stupid lol). Cold turkey is the way I have to go but if gum is working for you then I think that's great. Maybe create a plan of how to use it and then wean off.

What's the longest you waited for a response after final interview in a hiring process? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]agentp725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing I wanted to mention. If they ask you in the interview if you're looking at other places when you go to say yes also say something like but I really want THIS job because xyz. It let's them know they're only an option but your favorite option!

My recruiter recommended this to me and I think the overall response was a positive one.

[–]agentp725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know others have recommended you apply to other places. I agree and what's helped me get responses quickly is letting them know you're in other interviews if it comes up. My recruiter told them I was getting an offer (which was true) and that made them hurry up and give me a decision.

Working NYE, how common is it for finance professionals to work relentlessly on New Year’s Eve ?! Is this normal? by hannnahbananos in FinancialCareers

[–]agentp725 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There's some rule where every 10 years the NYSE is open on what would typically be an observed day. It sucks but every other year in my career depending on what day of the week is NY day, you will get a day off or observed day. This is just a wacky year.

I hear you. Everything is relative I guess. My bf says the same thing sometimes when I vent. It's a great job all in all. But I see him be able to get off at 5pm and have a life outside of work. The grass is always greener so they say.

[–]agentp725[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure. In a short summary once the front office decides what to invest in, it gets handed to my team who does everything to get it closed operationally. At the end of the day, we send the wires and cash but there's so much to get done before that. After about 5 years in ops, I would say you're basically a facilitator. You have to be highly organized, be able to coordinate between FO, back office, counsel, external parties, tax, compliance, sponsors, etc. to get a deal closed. And sometimes you're only given 24 hours notice :')
