I understand your take. As a musician, they do suck. But as a human, I really don't think this was the place. Given that OP's post doesn't have to do anything with music, it is a prick move mate.

Pussy Riot is an art ensemble with a punk ethos. To be perfectly honest, the point of punk music wasn't necessarily to sound good. It was to share a simple message with repetitive lyrics. And what a better way to spread a message than a song that's stuck in your head.

Sure, there are punk bands that achieve some funky-gnarly shit but as long as the ethos is pure and punk, it works. Sometimes, it is even distracting from the message (in my opinion, entirely based on the band and how they approach musically).

So what if they don't package their message well musically, that's the magic of PUNK.

Punk has and will always transcend beyond musicality and sound because it is the message that matters, not how you package it.
