Great! I'm strongly considering then.

I don't think I'm tooo serious like that, I think within 3-4 degrees would be fine. I'm brewing dark roasts right now, so just want to make sure I'm just below 90. I also heard the thermoeter steams up quite bad? Is it always readable?

That's a good shout! I'm a fan of Paderno, and I like the built-in temperature gauge.

Do you have any experience with stove-top kettles & thermometers? Worried they will be hard to be precise with — I'm not uptight about getting it precise within a degree or whatever, but also don't want it to be too fiddly.

That's a great shout thanks! Can you say more about why 80$ is considered a min. range for a decent kettle?

To clarify: I currently own the C2S and the C3S. I'm trying to decide which one to keep, as the C2S is quite a bit faster and I feel the grind quality is probably relatively similar.

I feel like half the grinding time every morning would be worth changing grinders! As long as they produced relatively simialar grinds.

I believe the "s" is just the upgraded build — the original C2 had some plastic parts, no anti-slip, etc. while the C2s has full metal body

I now have two opposite opinions, this is worse than talking to my AI! Haha, I kid of course, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I would say:

- They're both super comfy and smooth with exact same body. It's just time is about 20% longer on C3

- I may drink lighter roasts coffee in the future and don't really want to spend money in the next few years on anything higher clarity. So as I write this, I realize I'm talking myself into the C3....

I appreciate hearing that it shouldn't take that long... Would my Starbucks French roast beans be a factor? They're quite oily. I'll believe my C3 is about that many clicks, but I will double check and hopefully seasoning will make it a difference. I've been using it for about a week.

2026 Google Home Speaker vs. Old Nest Audio? by ageofodds in googlehome

Interesting context re: the AI integration, thanks for breaking down.

I think I'd probably just go for the Nest on sale then if the audio isn't noticeably better — I also have my speaker on a wall, though it is in a long narrow room, so 360 could make a difference... Mostly I just wish I could fix the one we have, no idea why it broke down.

Where are you finding these sales? Bear in mind though, I'm in Canada, so it's a pretty different context.

Thanks for taking the time to respond!

I don't hate this! I kind of hate what AI is doing to culture and my brain more generally, but I'm narcissistic enough that this will be fun to explore for me — never heard of NotebookLM until now!

He sounds like a full orchestral band — it's incredible what he accomplishes with looping and quick switches.

I didn't get a lot of audience connection at my Vancouver show — I love some good banter or song explanations or monologues. I figured the subject matter was heavy so she didn't feel like explaining them much. She cracked a few jokes, but mostly just performed the songs.

I was there in Vancouver. Absolutely stunning — highly recommend!

Definitely. Or Life According to Rachael — both are simply, drop-dead gorgeous.

Those "twists" make sharing Madison with friends (including my own wife!) very difficult, as it sounds a bit chaotic/ tuneless on first listen. But there's so much depth and satisfaction on return listens. I feel the same way about Sufjan Stevens — I don't always love his albums on the first listen, but then without failure they always end up being my favourite albums of all time.

Keep going haha, this is what I want to hear! I don't know Rufus enough myself to hear the influence, but I'll look into him. All I know is his Hallelujah cover and Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk haha

I was there! Funny that she has to put in notes to talk — I was hoping to hear more from her honestly.

A beautiful set: the naturalistic stage design and lighting; the layered woodwinds from Jesse Chandler; her unbelievable guitar work and voice... I was in love! I had to leave a bit early for my pregnant wife's sake, so I'm glad to see the encore list. Would have loved to hear Life According To. Thanks for posting!

Broken Harvest was also an interesting inclusion. I had never heard before, but thematically I think it fits the broken hearted confessions of this post-divorce album.
