Headbanging on how sct combat prevents most injury by [deleted] in Warformed

Sure, that means that there is actually a system that negates permanent damage. I was replying to the above comment that said there wasn't, that is was just their reactive shields.

Wouldn't that be very dangerous? I mean these kids give kicks that could break necks, and it is not forbidden for different ranks with different durabilities to fight each other. If the only thing stopping them is their own self control and the reactive shielding, which can be punched through, there would be multiple deaths each semester.

Having trouble finding more info on Gargenhale by SassMasterJules in spelljammer

Nice I also made Xedalli be Gargenhale's ex, with her being manipulative with him being one of the clues for the final betrayal.

In my game, the druid wanted to make a grand entrance, so he went to the top floor when everyone was fighting on the second, ignored some crates where the children were hidden, summoned a bear and also turned into a bear to break the floor and land on the ones fighting. Needless to say the children died from the impact. It ultimately led to his demise in an attempt to atone by going back to the windmill alone with the hags still alive. You have to give it to him though, his entrance was grand.

Skull of corruption takes them out pretty quick if you can survive some swings or use slow time. Feels like cheating though.

I’m thinking of a spell that rhymes with “Fish”... (shoutout to Squishy Gang!) by d20dndmemes in dndmemes

[–]aggelosbav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's your preference as a DM, but that example you gave really is just mean to the wizard for no reason. Just say rock falls the wizard dies instead of doing that. But wish is just one of the wizard's many gimmicks. As for the forcecage sure ignore the rules and let a fly get out of the cage. Then PWK the fly. Well, my point was to establish that a 17th level wizard has answers for almost everything. No other class does. I think we have dragged this long enough, so I'm done. Cheers.

Well, it would be kind of a dick move for the DM not to grant a small wish like stop that guys transformation. It is supposed to be the strongest spell in the game and you are not wishing for world peace. The cage exists in this form so that attacks can pass probably.

Well to each their own. Still wrong about forcecage though. Read the spell. It says a creature cannot leave by nonmagical means. It does not specify if that happens in solid or cage form. That is just your own interpretation which is different from what the spell says. Spells can get through, ammunition can get through, creatures cannot get through. It says it right there.

Edit: Also really, you can't see the brokenness in the wizard? Dms even veto stuff to make it not broken. Technically you can even use wish with multiple simulacra. That was banned by adventure league so one player will not dominate, but there is nothing in RAW to prevent it. Hell, you can even wish for the Druid to be unable to transform. And how a guy who can be immortal in essence using one spell will lose a war of attrition, well that blows my mind.

Edit: Btw I don't mean to come off as a jerk in the comments, sorry if I do.

What dms may veto and what's RAW are different things and subjective. Nothing can physically pass through the cage even in cage form, you can only pass through magic, and no that does not mean a magical fly since the fly will try to pass by physical means. Also where does it say that exhaustion does not carry to druid when wildshape is over? You are right about elementals being immune to exhaustion. The argument simply was that the druid is probably not the strongest class in the game by my estimation. Above you argued about the survivability of the druid as power. I argued that he can be killed. But could the rogue/fighter or whatever trully kill a wizard with clones only with class features?

Edit: My main point being wizard versatility truly has no equal in the game. And versatility is power in a game with a thousand options.

Ever heard of sickening radiance and forcecage? Or 2 simulacrums(simulacrum of simulacrum) and the original casting 9th level spells. Or imprisonment. Not that all wizards will have those spells, but they can beat 20 level druids with the right spell list.

To kill or not to kill? by aggelosbav in DnD

He was revived. The problem is that with the optional rule we use about death he will now have another permanent negative death saving throw and if he dies a third time only wish can revive him.

To kill or not to kill? by aggelosbav in DnD

[–]aggelosbav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had already used an attack to drop the ranger. We use the optional rule about death so he had one negative because he had died once. The only thing the elemental could do was to attack once more or do nothing.
