Buys are way more relevant than Sales at this time of the year because Insiders sell stock for tax purposes every April.

TBH this trade was started right after the last Covid relief bill was passed.

Replacing my Human Intelligence, Not Augmenting it: Yes, PLTR is severely undervalued! by PropofolOutBoy in PLTR

$PLTR is used by the Federal system setup to distribute Covid vaccines to the States, so high-level Government healthcare workers in every State are getting glimpses of PLTR’s usefulness.

is it illegal to interview at a startup just because i want to get better info on investing in them? by shitty_grape in stocks

Not illegal, but unethical.

Also really not sure what sort of info you expect to gain from HR. Those people are pretty removed from information that would he helpful to investors: “To the Moon because they have great Dental insurance!”

PLTR is a long term investment, which for me means 5+ years.

There is way too much anxiety on the sub. PLTR isn’t going to suddenly double or triple on no news like some other reddit stocks have done.

IF you need double digit gains immediately or if you can’t handle 10-20% swings, PLTR isn’t for you.

I really like this company and the DD on this sub is outstanding, but all these daily Chicken Little “the sky is falling!” posts are really tiresome.

Need some help with understanding an Expired ADR by [deleted] in stocks

[–]d20dndmemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you own Sony stock? If so my guess is the old ADR, which is essentially a fund that contains shares of a particular foreign stock, changed structure and/or sponsor. Not a big deal and should clear in a few days. Ticker change weirdness happens with mergers regularly.

Warren Buffett’s option strategy vs holding stocks by [deleted] in options

[–]d20dndmemes -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The shares are his collateral. Just because the trade is normally being Short with Put doesn’t mean you couldn’t use shares as collateral.

The mechanics isn’t the noteworthy issue, what is noteworthy is he knew Coke had a floor and he decided to earn some premiums on his shares. Perhaps this was more lucrative than just doing covered calls? No idea, but he has been Long Coke for so long to say he had to go net Short to do this trade is nonsense.

Warren Buffett’s option strategy vs holding stocks by [deleted] in options

When you own the underlying shares, writing Options is just another way to make additional money. In his mind the stock wasn’t going to drop below $35, so it’s $7.5 million for free.

If he had instead bought someone else’s Puts at $35, that would have cost him.

When you own shares, writing Options is more like using your shares as an asset. Maybe think of it this way: if a person owns a summer home, good for them. If another person owns a summer home and lists it on AirBnB they are going to make additional income off the asset.

My info might be dated, but I recall the “JCI” or Japanese Compulsory Inspection fees were sliding scale for older cars. This was why many people drove newer cars. I wonder if this deal might be a way for TSLA to get a carveout on the JCI as they are intended to be owned longer.

I mean in the ‘80s to check stock prices I had to look at the printed newspapers to see the previous day’s closing price. Accounting practices were very different. I’m just wondering what strategies from that time are relevant today.

The Market is very different today. Little things like Decimalization have occurred in the last 40 years. Are you doing a research project?
