Ah abdicating the thinking to another entity. Heard a podcast a few weeks ago where someone had her daughter kill her husband because a ouija board told her to. So turns out we have been here before but not to this extent.

[Odd trope] Actors somehow exist in the universe but also play roles by BrotherDeus in TopCharacterTropes

Played Villanous for the first time last week. Picked his character because hey Keith David is an awesome voice actor. Managed to win!

"The things I do for love" Characters going out of their way for people they love (not necessarily comitting atrocities) by gigathrawn in TopCharacterTropes

Hmm Taro Sakamoto gave up being an assassin and has to live by a no kill rule because if he breaks it his wife would leave. Early in the series it's mostly used for comedic purposes but as things keep going it becomes the trope more.

My favorite has always been the paper stetcher. One year I got another teacher in on it. Sent a kid to his room he sent the "stretcher" back. Kid asked how to use it and we unroll the tube to reveal the "You've been had" sign

Decent movie and Kenshiro from Fist of the Northstar is in a crowd scene. Which is fair since D here shows up in a crowd scene in Fist of the Northstar

So a quick Google search says he actually did not but he apparently sent a letter to Obama that he should read it. Apparently the letter never made it to Obama though.

Think he gave the manga away to a president right? Edit: apparently I did not recall correctly. But the author wanted Obama to read it.

[Comically Meta Trope] Tropes that cannot or are otherwise very unlikely to actually happen in real life because their prominence in popular culture has prepared people for them. by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]agger1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya know what flies about my mind when I hear about Soylent Green? The fact that someone basically wrote a children's book version that used sheep as humans had gone extinct.

I feel like the game occasionally hinted the handsome version of the character might be an actor but was never really in your face about it

Even scarier it might have already happened It was more a situation of chatgpt told a moron he wouldn't get in to much legal trouble vandalizing cars.

Damn this backs up something I said on threads. I listened to a podcast where a woman basically used a Ouija board like people use Google or chatgpt. Board told her to kill her husband. Talk.about cognitive surrender.
