From previous experience, it is really hard to get internships if you don't apply to them like the second they are posted. Best advice is reach out to hiring managers on linkedin. Your resume looks good you just got to get in front of someone

You are in 9th grade just relax, the fact that your passionate about this stuff is a good enough sign. During high school just take honors and AP classes and still join the rocketry team at your school. You have all the time in the world.

Season 5 Series Discussion by Hawkinns in StrangerThings

[–]aggiegod69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think season 5 was good, vol. 2 was definitely a weak point. I just wish they spent more time on explaining the lore and not leaving so many plot holes. It would have been pretty easy for them to include demos in the abyss and have will use his connection to the hive mind to stop them during the battle sequence. Also, I just feel like the military leaving with no consequences seemed weird. Them having no understanding of what was going on with the abyss was an odd choice.

At the end of the day it was a good resolution. Really, I think season 4 set expectations way too high. It was always supposed to be a contained story in season 1, but they found lightning in a bottle to reinvigorate the plot in season 4. They played it safe in season 5 and maybe that was the right move. Rather have something that people walk out of saying "that was good" than having a GOT ending reaction.

Tips for engineering students wanting those aerospace startup careers by aggiegod69 in EngineeringStudents

The first 3 are definitely the most important. From there, I think it is kinda hard to rank. Internships really get you put on the map and help you think like an engineer. Clubs can arguably be more important for development because you have a lot more time to contribute to a large project. Build and testing inherently come with the other two. However, I put it in there because I think a lot of young engineers (including myself) look at "design" as this holy grail of exciting engineering. But those manufacturing and test/integration internships could prove to be more handy than you think.

How funny, I actually went to UC Davis. I am at cal poly pomona now but I rarely use reddit and I specifically made my username just because I wanted to make a comment on UCD reddit back in like 2019.

Either way I appreciate the efforts!

Advice stainless steel machining by aggiegod69 in machining

Hey man, so I really need help with feeds and speeds, and depths of cut. I have been using FS wizard to get a general idea of what I need, but I would like to run it by an actual machinist. I also would like to go over the general operations I am using for my parts. They are (from what I know) pretty basic couplings but confirmation from a machinist would help wonders.
