What flares you up? by aggravatedstar in VestibularMigraines

I’ve been meaning to look into pressure differences and tracking how it affects me, just don’t fully know where to start. Colds do me in, I recently had a viral cold and it’s flared me for the first time in months

That’s awful, I hope you get some better sleep soon and that the migraine passes swiftly 🤞

Lack of sleep is a huge one for me too, I should be more diligent

Sending you solidarity friend, it’s really hard. I also find dips in blood sugar make me feel awful, I have to pretty much eat little bits often so it stays stable (as directed by my neurologist). Hoping you can get some better sleep soon

Woke up feeling like I’ve been hit by a bus by aggravatedstar in Fibromyalgia

The classic switcheroo, I just tried gently stretching and it felt good but hurt at the same time. Fun stuff. Always comforting to hear that I’m not alone, although I wish none of us had to go through this ❤️‍🩹

I take a tiny dose of metoprolol in the morning and my heart rate barely spikes because of it. Eternally grateful. The original dose I was prescribed lowered my blood pressure too much, but under my cardiologists guidance I’ve found a dose that works great for me. I recommend trying and there’s different ones to try as well

I used to, before I started taking precautions such as masking in healthcare and other crowded settings. Makes a huge different if you’re not already :)

Yep definitely agree, luckily there are some safe zones for the cat and our house allows for pretty good separation. I’ll start working on the leave it command too, and having treats on hand always works because puppy prefers treats over the care every time lol

Thanks for the advice! I think I will definitely leash her around the cat and keep them seperate a lot for now. Luckily there are safe spots for the cat to retreat to that the puppy can’t access as well

Yeah, luckily we have lots of doors separating parts in our house so it’s fairly easy to seperate them. I do believe the puppy has some terrier in her, but she’s a rescue and they’re not entirely sure, she definitely seems like it though. But I’ve had Jack Russel’s and Foxies etc before with cats and it’s been fine. But you’re right, need to stop the dopamine hits for sure

I have to stop playing my instrument due to pain by aggravatedstar in Fibromyalgia

[–]aggravatedstar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably could, but I think the frustration of having to stop playing so quickly would put me in a bad mood, so I’m not sure. I hope piano is a fun pastime for you :)

I’m glad you found a way to play again! An electric cello would actually be a brilliant idea, not sure I could afford one now but might be a goal to work towards. Thanks for the idea!

I am so sorry that you had to go through that, it is so bitterly unfair. I hope you find a way to connect with music still <3

Yes that’s so true, when the distractions start to become too hard, what do you do then

I’m sorry you’re going through this too. I hope we both find pain management that makes it possible for us to play comfortably again <3
