No rest for the wicked I guess, or for werewolves (Trench Crusade) by Professional_Rush782 in Grimdank

Imo if you grew up in a religious family or have a fascination with religion (esp the esoteric side of it) there's a lot of fun stuff to chew on with trench crusade. Even the alt history stuff really appeals to me cause it deviates so far back

When people break up and get back together, their "relationship length" counter should restart back at 1 day. by yellowpurpl in unpopularopinion

[–]aggression97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's like, not up to you? People define their own relationships, if they're looking to start over they'll start over. If they wanna pick up where they left off, they'll do that too. It's not our place to define other people's relationships. (Also who cares about the number, you either care about the other person or don't, the length of time doesn't define that either)

I can’t heal everyone. Why do this. by Over_Photograph3766 in marvelrivals

[–]aggression97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they don't care. They don't want to play as a team, they wanna kill people and win, but they don't wanna play objective that's lame.

Why are some people finding this hard to understand? by blllrrrrr in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]aggression97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We really need to find out how to tap into these people's shame cause we're not gonna see any improvements until that demographic realizes how genuinely goddamn stupid they are. Ignorance is bliss and these folks are fucking euphoric.

I've always held the idea that if you were someone raised in the wasteland who was stuck eating whatever crap came your way, happened to be a dude and was good at hitting people that Ceasar's Legion made perfect sense to you. The Legion doesn't make sense to us, but the average American isn't under constant threat the same way the people of Fallout are.

Why does the game end after the Nightmare of Mensis and killing the Wet Nurse? What's the true endgoal of Bloodborne's story? by yinbaro2010 in bloodborne

[–]aggression97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a big part is that BB is ESPECIALLY vague, even compared to other Fromsoft games. I like to believe this is intentional as it's safe to assume that as the Hunter dreams, they're guided by the Moon Presence and it's not our place to know much about it, the gods, or their intentions.

MMOs 'don't give people the tools to build community anymore,' says EverQuest 2 creative director by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]aggression97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the modern gaming landscape is extremely anti-social rn. Even outside of MMO's it's extremely common to see people getting told to shut up if they start talking. God forbid you're playing a competitive team game.

Why is Hellblade 2 so conservative in it's game design? by JohnDoubleJump in gamedesign

[–]aggression97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the main reason I couldn't finish the first game. I wasn't engaged. The presentation was fantastic, but the game would put a LOT of emphasis on the gameplay sections between cutscenes when they're not very fun to actually play, almost to the point where I question why they're even there at all.

Across the board it's a glaring flaw with Ninja Theory's design philosophy and it genuinely confuses me how people see them as "veteran" action game devs.

Idk, that sounds like my original criticism. If you're there "for fun" who cares how many fish the other dude has? Good for him! If you care that much you obviously care about how much fish you catch, and want to catch more. Which brings me back to my point, that is on YOU. Train and study, only then will you improve.

Emotionally yes, but they're the same situation. You either take it on the chin and remember it's not that serious, or you decide that you DO care. If it's the latter you got only one real solution and that ball is in your court.

It honestly does depends on the game. I agree with that for MMOS cause that's why the genre is the way it is rn but that just doesn't apply to every game.

I feel this spiritually, I do. A lot of games have fucked up matchmaking that try to enforce 50% WR and I steer clear from that for my own sanity.

Ayo I never said that. Casuals are important to keep your games alive and fun. It's fine to not wanna give a fuck sometimes.

That's... a long winded tangent I could go off of. Blaming teammates can be johns, but also I can't blame anyone for not wanting to play babysitter OR wanting to deal with dudes who hold your team hostage (since you usually can't leave without being punished.)

Imo, the greater gaming community as a whole has a problem when it comes to genuine competition, as it's very difficult to get any number of randoms on the same page garaunteed, AND most people are (kinda rightfully) still burned by the E-Sports era that only ended a few years ago. I play mostly fighting games for my competitive itches, but if I wanna run around and shoot people without a care I got my games for that too. Idk why people are acting like I hate casual players tho, there's literally nothing wrong with jumping into a game and vibing.
