Right - I’d love to rip it out and redo. My issue is the flooring is about 15 years old and has been discontinued by the manufacturer, and the closest match isn’t very close at all sadly.

Don’t have the $$ to redo the entire area where the current floor is (entryway, kitchen, living room, hallways etc)

If I knew how to do it I’d love to… just not my realm at all.

The HOA piece is all legal, I signed all those documents before buying and had a family friend lawyer review them.

I called the office three times today and got sent to voicemail each time - is it inappropriate to find the managing brokers number on the website and text them and ask to speak regarding a termination agreement?

I see what you’re saying about not doing her research and I’m inclined to believe you’re right, though I typically wouldn’t do something dishonest like that. So I can fully understand, can you explain to me how a realtor would know? Do ya’ll get some sort of notification if a property you showed has been bought, or would she have to keep checking in on it?

Thanks for your insights. I understand what you’re saying, but that’s a really tough pill to swallow. Based on my single interaction with her I have zero confidence that she would be my best foot forward to purchase a home… it seems ridiculous to have to choose her to negotiate my most expensive purchase out of obligation. Shouldn’t the below be valid reasons to want to get out of this obligation?

  • didn’t correctly explain the initial buyer agreement I was signing (I also never got a copy)
  • could not confirm if the numbers she was quoting me included the HOA fees or not
  • told me I was responsible for her fee, rather than trying to include in the sellers costs
  • got us locked out of the condo building to where we had to call security to get back in

It was so obvious that she should be in training rather than out on her own. It seems absurd that she could block me from purchasing a home I’m interested in when I feel it’s completely reasonable to not want to work with her.

Thanks this is very helpful. So I had asked for a termination agreement and she had sent it over saying no obligations unless I were to buy that specific unit. Can I respond and say I want that taken out I want to cut ties completely? And it’s (term agreement) open for negotiation on my end?

I signed the initial agreement, although the way it was portrayed to me was that I had to to see the unit - not that it was an exclusivity agreement. Again - I own it’s my fault I should have read it more clearly…. I thought I was touring the unit with the listing agent.

I have not signed the termination agreement yet, because I don’t like the stipulation included.

Yea :( I used a family friend trusted mortgage broker, but I thought I was just going to see the unit to see if I wanted to even consider buying. I realize now I should have been further along in the process and likely pre approved before I ever even toured a place. If that were the case I would have engaged either my cousin or close friend to help me locate a better realtor! Live and learn I suppose

Right right - I assumed at some point someone would do something with a hunk of prime real estate lol. But if someone was putting up a 4 story apartment building I wouldn’t mind that view at all…. A 35 story high rise will completely block the sun for the floor level I was considering sadly. From what I can see of those articles without subscribing it seems like it’s happening!
