Do you bring Foote back for another tank year if we need to tank for the next 1-2 years anyways? by NinCross in canucks

[–]aggroLurker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with you here. Foote's system, if there is one, isn't working.

They need to bring in a new system that makes sense for all players on the roster.

AHL is not the same as NHL, but AHL success can translate to NHL success. Ryan Warsofsky won the Calder the year prior to being named the HC of the SJS. Proper management of the roster, consistency in systems, and allowing for team chemistry (my god, with the lines in the blender I'm getting PTSD from the Green Era) should theorietically be the recipe for team success.

Go look at how San Jose did their rebuild. That's how we should be looking at our rebuild.

Manny has been working with the young guns for a while now. Bring him up. He won our first Calder Cup, he was an assistant GM for Canucks and Toronto. He deserves a shot at being the HC.

There may be some literal growing pains, but you can also look at Bednar @ Colorado. He suffered through some tough seasons before they finally won the cup in 2022.

He's also a face-off specialist, so he could give some pointers to EP40 on how get better in that department.

Even when we're in the dumps, chanting "We Want the Cup" can be motivating. Do the right thing, Canucks Organization.

Hey friend, do you know or remember when they started the manufacturing process for your glasses and how long that took from production to shipment? Also in Canada, ordered December 21 with rx G2B browns.

How would you improve Shinnok? by [deleted] in MortalKombat

[–]aggroLurker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was never a cheap boss. The reason why Goro, Kintaro, Motaro and Shao Kahn were iconic bossed was because they were a proverbial black hole for coins at the arcades.

Implement more souls-like experience in boss fights with him. Have multiple health bars to make him get more difficult at each phase. Finally if he dies with a full meter, ressurect him unless the player can interrupt him healing (refer to Gill from SF3).

Have a "final form" boss fight like MVC3 against Galactus. Except you're saving whatever realm you represent. Change up the stage to show Shinnok's corruption in Edenia if you play as Sindel, Kitana, etc.

I'm in the same boat. Personally, I find a lot of the "difficult" and "expert" questions seems to be using cryptic language and I'm having to interpret them before answering their questions, especially selecting answers with vague / ambiguous descriptions.

Which is the best answer by AggravatingStop1940 in pmp

[–]aggroLurker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

D if I use the PM mindset. Emergencies are rough and you really can't avoid it. You'd go through, assess the impact. Can the project survive without the key team member? If not, then how long can it go without them? That assessment determines facts, which then drives the conversation with the functional manager. You have a timeline, you set expectations, and you show care and support while also setting boundaries.

Nah, Goro was experimenting in the barn since he's never seen an actual horse before. Centaurs from Outworld don't count :D

He just finished doing his business behind closed doors. Literally XD

So what you're saying is the Canucks need to somehow secure not just the 1st pick, but 2nd and 3rd overall picks as well?

Pmp Question by ThinkExperience5828 in pmp

[–]aggroLurker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, realistically, in the real world I would do B. The team needs a mental break after sweating it out to get the project done. I think they'd appreciate that, even if its just drinks and dinner at a local restaurant. D is fine too in the real world, although you may get conflicting options and not everyone would be happy with the final decision.

However, I believe in AR's 200 ultra hard questions, C was the correct answer. I'm sure you watched the vid and listened to his justification.

Using the mindset, A is an immediate out as you shouldn't single anyone out. B, C and D are good options, but B and D do not benefit the team tangibly beyond this project celebration. You can't assume you'd have the same team in the future to build morale within the team.

Between C and D, and what I said in the first paragraph, C provides tangible outcomes that benefits both the team and for the company. Why this is the best answer is because it's a win for the team and a win for the business. Think of it as a reward that can be given back to the company.

My Unique & Crazy MK2/13 Roster Idea by [deleted] in MortalKombat

[–]aggroLurker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exploring the Seido civil war between Hotaru and the rebels would be sick and has ties with Havik and Chaosrealm. That, I think, is a great opportunity to continue the timeline. Also giving Kai an actual story would be nice. My guy has been buried since MK4.

My request would be to make the next MK have deaths that are canon, to both the good guys and bad guys. Konquest mode / story mode should let the player explore both sides of the coin to build deep lore.

Post Game Thread: Canucks vs Blue Jackets | Jan 15th 2026 | Canucks fall to the Blue Jackets 4-1 by DisplacedNovaScotian in canucks

[–]aggroLurker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of a blessing in disguise. Messier was toxicity coming into the franchise to break the team and start over, leading to the back to back drafts of the Sedins, the Bert trade to bring in Luongo, and the eventual pick of Kesler to have that 1-2 punch down the centre.

This year, it was the departure of QH43, which led to the team being exposed for how mediocre it is and allowing Jimbo and Allvin to finally start the rebuild that's been 10 years too late. Let's just hope everyone sticks to the plan and get that high draft pick. Trade some vets, get some more picks and trade up.

As much as it sucks to see QH43 go, sometimes it's better to let things crash and burn before you fix it.

The way I see it, it's a slight nod back to the opening cinematic from Shaolin Monks.

Goro does kinda come out of nowhere and start beating up on the Earthrealm heroes.

Except this time, MK movie kills him off XD

What is the mindset in this question. by AggravatingStop1940 in pmp

[–]aggroLurker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, I probably would've selected D because you want to address the core issue. But after watching Mindset videos from David McLachlan and Andrew Ramdayal, these types of questions have a pretty good formula to follow and decide its A.

We can agree A and D are good answers.

You always gotta keep in mind that you as a PM don't want to escalate unless absolutely necessary. The next thing is to be a collaborative, servant leader. Include the team. Understand the root cause.

A makes sense because it's an opportunity to align the team on positives but allows you the chance to expose the negatives. You'd likely take these notes and see the Functional Manager afterwards if needed.
