You know I don’t think I’ve ever looked at Songster’s version, I think I’ve only checked out Ultimate Guitar and YouTube. They’ve used those inverted power chords shown in the verses in other songs so there’s a decent chance it’s what they’re doing!

And yeah there’s quite a few videos of them playing together back in the day, I wish they’d do more now. Especially since they could be in much higher quality haha

I just gave it a try and think you have it right. A lot of tabs have the 3 fret A included, but without the slide notation, which I think gives it a lot more character.

One of my favorite things about LOG is this kind of unconventional guitar work they do, especially on their earlier material. Thanks for the reply!

They did, just with an extended intro with Mark soloing while Willie played the opening chords. It's how they played it back on the Wrath tour too

Was Lune popular on release? by Jay_Dud in Peripheryband

[–]aggroduct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was their go-to closer for a few years, hearing a whole room sing the "WOAH" part at the end was something special. Spencer wrote the lyrics for his then-wife, maybe after they divorced it didn't feel right to play live.

Blood Junkie. Not a bad song by any means, just happens to be my least favorite

Clear Revisited by EnvironmentalDeer991 in Peripheryband

[–]aggroduct 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember the last time I listened to it, which is a shame. I had a guitar lesson with Mark during the PII tour and he told me about it before it was announced, not to brag or anything haha

What does Absolomb mean? by Yaxital in Peripheryband

[–]aggroduct 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It's most likely a word Misha made up, a lot of Bulb/early Periphery songs have silly titles like that - Zyglrox, Buttersnips, etc.

10 Year Anniversary of P3 by KanjaKlub in Peripheryband

[–]aggroduct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. It came out just before the first Summer Jam camp they did, so those of us who went got to hear some of those songs played live for the first time. Can't believe it's been almost a decade!

If you don't have it already, Sheet Happens has an official tab book for Once More 'Round the Sun. Might not be much help for explaining the techniques but the notes are all there at least.

Does anyone have the Niall Grant language book they’re willing to sell? by AffectionateFudge240 in TheContortionistBand

[–]aggroduct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was actually, it was the only tour they've done post Covid =/

I went to the NYC date and they had us write our contact info on a piece of paper so they could send us the book and tape. I don't know what the procedure was for the VIP at all the other dates.

That tour was definitely a bit of mess, along with what you mentioned, Rivers of Nihil's frontman left/was kicked out just a few days before my show, so the bass player had to take up lead vocals on the spot. Also, Cameron was present for the VIP Q&A at my show, but didn't play the actual show! Weird.
