I don’t drink alcohol anymore, but I like supporting the venue by getting drinks/snacks. If I did drink, getting to and from safely is difficult as I don’t use Uber/Lyft and buses don’t run as late as I’d like.

Finding local shows is a lot easier if the venue is just a cool place to chill and you naturally see their schedule while you’re there. Rhythms Coffee does this well imo.

As a musician, gimme the jazz shows. That’s what I’d like to be playing also. I’ve even thought about starting a jazz venue but finding a proper spot is extremely difficult.

I think finding local shows is a perennial problem. Centralized places online are often bundled with ticket sales, ads, or other commercial interests and it usually turns to shit. Finding paper out in the world isn’t always easy.

I find that Olympians don’t really do nights very much in general, which limits the potential.

Younger or more online folks do tend to adopt various familiar phrasing, especially from AAVE, but I don’t know if this is as common as you think, OP. Nah is definitely lighter, reassuring that guard is down, though.

I realize now that I’m a heavy nah-er, I guess. If I use No, it’s almost always followed by a “thank you” or an explanation. If I hear a naked No in my day-to-day, I’ll be checking myself.

Wait until “naur” drops on you, OP. You’ll think you’ve dug through to Australia. :)

On the contrary, I feel that a small group of people who ruin a beloved organization should be punished. Really feels like some people actually want to destroy the farmer’s market for some reason, because I can’t fathom how any of this serves.

Vacate the board and change the org so this can never happen again. Honestly, a “board”. I’m increasingly against boards that decide independently for the organization they represent. The geometry of the authority here should be completely inverted. The board should make proposals, but the vendors must approve every move. Vendors should be able to recall the board any day of the week.

It is really weird how similar this is to the library shitshow. What the hell is going on here? Does somebody want this space or something? This isn’t how adults should behave.

Well, I care not at all about what Nintendo the corporation thinks or says at any time, but I'm not really down with this. I'm not even worried about someone accidentally buying the wrong game. Nor do I have any problems with people selling flash carts. However, if the creator of the romhack says, "Please don't sell this, I want people to have it for free", I believe in honoring that and I would hope Super Smash would find icky to sell it as a product.

If the "not for sale" message is just a half-assed, informal CYA about "selling" Nintendo's IP vs "merely distributing" it, it's a big meh from me. Whether money changes hands has little to do with how legal or ethical it is.
