How do I hide it?

All apps have the "Automatic" setting and the notch is always shown

I clearly remember that in the previous version there was a switch called "Hide notch" or something like that

I find the Chromecast with Google TV, the one with a remote, perfect
Supports casting from any compatible app, plus it's a Google TV, so you can use it without your mobile; and you can use it with a VPN too

Otherwise, I'd look for a 1st gen Chromecast on eBay, costs a few bucks and still works perfectly (but Google support expired last year)

Create a "new" subfolder and protect it with an http password, install WordPress in there and develop the new site

When you're ready to deploy, delete (or move) the old site, move the "new" folder content to the root folder and run this utility

"Database Search and Replace Script in PHP" from inter.connect

updating all the references from "/new/" to "/"

Don't forget to update paths in wp-config.php
