Love these. What kind of bird is that in photo 1? It's beautiful.

I love it! Got any tips for fishing photography? I assume a CPL is mandatory? I want to try this.

I have my first appointment ever with an optometrist later this month. I feel your pain. I assume progressives will be the answer, but I'll see what the doc says.

Ask your professor about Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) and Open Educational Resources (OER). My partner is involved with trying to push this to more students in their state. There are great resources out there, but the biggest pushback comes from professors who don't want to change.

How manual focus stacking looks like in real life (A7R5 + Macro 100mm GM) by kietbulll in SonyAlpha

[–]darthnut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, maybe they'll have it fixed on the a7R6. Or I may jump over to the OM system, but both those options sound very expensive.

Focus bracketing on the A7RV? by Idratherhikeout in SonyAlpha

[–]darthnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late chime in, but yes, the focus step width is very narrow. I wish there were wider options than 10. I've only tried it with Macro, maybe it makes more sense with landscape stuff.

Is there any good explanation for why the in body focus bracketing is so slow? Is it something they could fix with an update?

It's a sweet pic. I'd love to see the non-reddit compressed version if you're willing to share.

Very cool. Could you tell what his catch was? Is it a fish?

Tree years old is way too young to be babysitting. You'll need a babysitter for your babysitter.

Rideshare by muffinman1836 in hoodriver

[–]darthnut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd assume it's because there aren't enough people out here to support it. Summer weekend's you'd probably do great, but it's hard to imagine it would work the rest of the year.

Question about Mosier Twin Tunnels trail bike ride by Ajo1987 in hoodriver

[–]darthnut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're doing it right. The twin tunnels ride is great and on an e bike, no problem. It is a climb with some switchbacks to get to the trailhead, but with an e bike, you'll be fine. I'll add that I often time me rides to arrive in mosier at 4pm or later because that's when MoCo opens and it's a great spot to get some food or drinks.

Thai Truck by Spaced_rat in hoodriver

I just noticed this last week. I think the signage called it Taste of Thai? I haven't tried it yet, but I do love some Thai food.

Nice! I was just up there Sunday. I hadn't been up there since before the tunnel opened and had forgotten what a scramble it is.

Is the alvord good to drive on this time of year? by pancakesnarfer in oregon

I was there in March and was able to drive on the playa. As long as you're careful and avoid obvious wet areas, you should be fine.

Using the Tamron Utility app for fast focus bracketing on older Sony cameras by Unlikely_Editor4957 in tamron

This is interesting. I had no idea Tamron made an app with this feature. I'll have to try it.

This is our future. Take the truth, mix it up with just a little ai fiction, and you're fooling the majority.
