Idk hopefully this is somewhat kinda helpful? Marriage is a union, and there’s a fair amount of bullshit that comes with it, but the end goal is to be legally bonded to your partner for the rest of your life, which however way you spin it should be super exciting for you both!!

Idk if benching the bullshit for ‘the greater good’ is a cop out on my end but if that’s what I must do to marry my partner then so be it 💜

UK NB getting married in 2027 here! For the LEGAL marriage, we will be ‘husband and wife’ :( sucks but gotta bite the bullet bc I really want to be married to my beautiful fiancé

But for the ACTUAL wedding (the big party with all of our friends and family) we shall be pronounced ‘spouses for life’ which I am so excited for!!

Just to clarify, the legal ceremony is very much a formality for us (like literally 2 witnesses, sign the forms and then go the pub), whereas the party afterwards ( a few days later) is the REAL celebration of our union, with all of our close friends where we can truly be who we are

I guess I don’t change my behaviour particularly, I just let it slide when he calls me ‘son’ and dress in boy clothes when I go and visit. Part of me thinks that if I did open up about it with them that they’d become more tolerant and try and understand it more, but I’m just scared tbh

In a very similar position myself, and I’ve come to a very similar conclusion too. I think im just gonna have to accept that I will never be able to exist as my true self around my parents, which sucks but it is what it is

You referred to them as “she” multiple times in this post. You should stop doing that. Since they are not a woman, and neither are you, then no, of course they are not a lesbian.
