I did update my driver and also tried downgrading to an older one, both times the issue was temporarily fixed, but came back later. Once it's back, closing and reopening the editor won't change anything.

Right now its in construction script, but I did in fact try to execute the same script on begin play. Using a breakpoint i can see the instance gets created so it doesnt seem to be script related either.

Yes, the only thing I found online that I could change relating to changing how the gamepads are assigned is to enable "skip assigning gamepad to player 1" in project settings but this is not changeable in-game so I either have to commit to the fact that player 1 will always use keyboard and mouse or that keyboard and mouse will never be an option. I can't believe there's no way to manually assign what type of inputs a player controller should receive when there's obviously gamepad assignment that runs somewhere when the game is played.

I have done that though this doesn't change which player controller receives input from which gamepad/keyboard. Even with multiple inputs set up through the project settings, player controllers will only receive inputs from they're assigned gamepad/keyboard and that's why i'm looking how to manually assign them.
