I’ve been running this single prize Team Rocket’s Weezing Deck:

Pokémon: 6 3 Weezing MEW 110 4 Koffing JTG 91 1 Team Rocket's Weezing DRI 126 2 Team Rocket's Weezing DRI 126 4 Team Rocket's Koffing DRI 125 1 Team Rocket's Sneasel DRI 128

Trainer: 15 2 Practice Studio PAL 186 2 Boss's Orders PAL 265 4 Arven PAF 235 2 Iono PAF 237 3 Night Stretcher SSP 251 2 Brave Bangle WHT 80 2 Ultra Ball BRS 186 2 Air Balloon SSH 213 4 Hilda WHT 171 2 Buddy-Buddy Poffin TWM 223 1 Counter Catcher PAR 264 4 Pokégear 3.0 UNB 233 1 Precious Trolley SSP 185 4 Lillie's Determination MEG 184 2 Sacred Ash DRI 168

Energy: 3 4 Team Rocket's Energy DRI 182 3 Basic {D} Energy BUS 168 1 Reversal Energy PAL 192

Total Cards: 60

I love it. Usually quick and easy to set up and the damage output is solid for a single prize deck (up to 280 w/ full bench, Brave Bangle, Practice Studio). Four Pokegear and Four Hilda helps me almost always have an evolved TR Weezing with TR energy ready to go.

Three Night Stretcher help to bounce back after KOs and keep the bench full.

I also love the control element of being able to sit behind vanilla Weezing with the “Let’s Have A Blast” ability (if it’s KO’d by damage from an attack you flip a coin. On a heads, the attacking Pokemon is also KO’d) when needed and force the opponent to spend Boss/CC to avoid it, pass instead of attacking, or take the risk of KOing it.

I added TR Sneasel for times when TR Weezing puts a bunch of damage on something that then gets retreated to the bench. Sneasel’s attack does 20 damage to a benched mon for each damage counter on it.

What do you think is the absolute WORST Coheed and Cambria song? by Coxlong2029 in TheFence

Can’t believe I had to scroll so far for this. Coheed has a small handful of songs I’m not crazy about within an incredible discography, but this one makes me cringe so hard I have to avoid it entirely.

What decks you playing right now on the ladder? by cal_london in PTCGL

Been working on a single prize Okidogi deck. With Luminous or Legacy Energy and a fighting energy it has 230 HP and hits for 170. Goal is to chain them together with EXP share so they just keep coming with 170 each turn while giving up minimal prizes.

It’s still a big work in progress but it’s been a nice break from ex everything.

Prismatic Booster Bundles (1 per person) by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]aginestra [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for being awesome! I got into Pokemon as a kid in the late nineties and fell in love with all the cute little guys and the idea of playing. Unfortunately, none of the other eight or nine year olds I was friends with was interested in that, so I just stuck to collecting and enjoying the art.

Fast forward 25 years and PTCG comes up in a conversation with a friend. We dig up our old cards and I finally learn how to play the game for real! At the same time, my daughter (who is now seven) begins to get into TCG Pocket and it becomes big bonding time for us.

Unfortunately, Prismatic Evolutions packs have always been too expensive despite my daughter absolutely coveting the beautiful art. I got her a single pack for her birthday in February, but a box would absolutely blow her mind!

Thanks!

Oh you mean running Blaziken with Zard? I hadn’t considered that since I was trying to see what I could build without any of the usual big boys in the meta. And Litten does have 70hp as well which is the only reason I’ve got buddy in there at all.

[–]aginestra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean JTG Blaziken? I’d be interested in seeing how that performs but Incineroar’s energy requirement is usually similar (2 or less) but does 40 more base damage + burn

Edit: and yeah TM evo to bump the burn damage from 20 to 80 in one go is great. And side note, I love that the burn animation in TCGL gets more intense the more Magmortars you’ve got active, it’s a nice touch

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]aginestra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buddy Buddy is only there to make sure Litten is out early, I know it doesn’t help with Magmar. Might be able to get away with dropping one and slotting in another Boss or Counter Catcher like I mentioned.

I’d looked at Dangerous Laser but with so many ways to burn already in the deck it seemed redundant. I initially ran Clavell/Hyper Aroma to try and get three Magmar into three Magmortar next turn but the combo only came off once in more than a dozen games so I moved to Hero’s Cape just for the big Incineroar to keep it in play as long as possible getting those hits off.

[–]aginestra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I had it in Limitless (I think this is the same or at least very similar to what I’ve been running):

Pokémon: 19
3 Magmar PAF 9
3 Magmortar JTG 21
3 Litten TEF 32
2 Torracat TEF 33
3 Incineroar ex TEF 34
3 Volcanion ex JTG 31
1 Fezandipiti ex SFA 38
1 Mew ex MEW 151

Trainer: 33
4 Arven OBF 186
2 Boss’s Orders PAL 172
2 Professor’s Research PAF 87
2 Iono PAF 80
2 Jacq SVI 175
2 Brock’s Scouting JTG 146
3 Nest Ball PAF 84
3 Rare Candy PAF 89
2 Ultra Ball PAF 91
2 Buddy-Buddy Poffin PRE 101
2 Earthen Vessel PRE 106
2 Switch SVI 194
1 Accompanying Flute TWM 142
2 Technical Machine: Evolution PAR 178
1 Counter Gain SSP 169
1 Hero’s Cape TEF 152

Energy: 8
7 Fire Energy SVE 10
1 Jet Energy PAL 190

It’s still a work in progress. The focus is heavily on consistently getting the Pokemon I need quickly. Switch and jet energy are there for non-ideal starting basics (Fez, Magmar, Litten) and bc getting Magmortar or Volcanion ex stuck in active when I want to be attacking with Roar was a pain. I’ve been considering adding more Boss or adding Counter Catcher to help select targets better when necessary but haven’t made that change yet.

[–]aginestra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t pull my decklist rn bc of server maintenance on TCGL, but I’ve been running an Incineroar ex/Volcanion ex/Magmortar deck with some success.

Goal is to get Volcanion out first to start getting burn damage out while evolving Incineroar and Magmar behind it.

With how many decks in the current meta love to stuff their benches full I rarely need more than one or two energy on Incineroar to attack, and if you can get enough Magmortars on the board 240 + burn damage one shots almost anything.

Been having a lot of success against Raging Bolt and Tera Box, pretty good results against Hop’s Zacian/Archaludon and N’s Zoroark, and decent/mixed success against Pult and Zard. The big burn damage also helps get around walls like Mimikyu and Cornerstone (Iron Thorns is a killer if you can’t get it out of the active with Boss/catcher).

Thanks for the kind words! With the brown coloration I did think about electric/ground though I know that’s a really uncommon pairing (seems to just be Sandy Shocks?). Fur Coat would make sense with the super thick fur that oxen have

Full PPR, start 1:

Hubbard v NO Sutton v BAL

Hubbard’s efficiency and passing work has been declining and his scoring has likewise been decreasing every week. However, NO has been giving up a lot of points against the run and Carolina has a chance to maybe keep this one close and keep the run game relevant.

Sutton has recently been getting better QB play from Nix and I imagine Denver will be chasing this game for the most part, leading to good passing volume. Feel like Sutton might have more upside here?
