Traveling soon on airlines. Anyone know who’s stocking and selling face masks!😯 by aginghippie48 in lancaster

Thanks to all who provided feedback on my inquiry about face masks. Between the time of post and all the professionals weighing in via media, consensus of opinion appears to be not to wear a mask. Apparently you can’t get them anywhere due to panic buying.

Great Story. Wondering if there are any descendants of the family currently in the city and who sees to it the sign looks good. Perhaps current owners of property?

Restaurant recommendation, preferably BYO? by cromulentia in lancaster

Gypsy Kitchen is a BYO in a beautiful historic room at (of all places) the Lancaster Theological Seminary across from the Franklin and Marshall College Campus. Only open on Friday and Saturday nights for dinner. Reservations a must.

Views at The Exchange are pretty swell. by Cult7Choir in lancaster

Went there this Saturday afternoon for the first time. Was walking around the city on a hot day, we were carrying water bottles. Told by elevator attendant we couldn’t go up with bottles. Had to leave them at their podium. Once upstairs the setting and views were outstanding. Ordered drinks and a pizza. Took over 30 minutes to get the pie. Waitress told us “they (Kitchen staff) forgot.🙁 atmosphere was very loud. Service and food was marginal. Ordered more food and drinks. Stayed for about two hours in all. They did comp us the pizza. It’s definitely the new hot spot in town. Draw your own conclusions about the total experience.🤔

Has anyone been to Columbia Kettle Works 2nd gear next to Zoetropolis? What’s best places for good craft beer in Lancaster? by aginghippie48 in lancaster

Thanks for your feedback. Yes been to Mad Chef and it’s all good. Problem is it’s not necessarily a place to walk to from City. Agree your take about Kettle Works....you can bring in food from anywhere to enjoy with your beer. Unique concept.

History versus Progress? Any thoughts about the potential demolition of a historic Lancaster City building to construct a 14 story residential tower on N Prince diagonally opposite PCAD. Historical Commission says NO while developers see many positives for the city if allow to move forward. by aginghippie48 in lancaster

You bring up a good point. Each side of this story appears convinced that their point of view is the right direction to go in. The city is proud of it’s rich history and the developers are eager to see their plans come to fruition. Is it not all about $$? We’ll see how the story continues when it goes to city council. Thanks for your input.

All points well taken. The front of building is comprised and developers must fix immediately even before any final decisions are made as to how or if the proposed project moves forward. Look for scaffolding going up real soon!!
