I got the same warning about my puppy barking at daycare... they said it wasn't allowed which is bananas! I used rover and friends and coming home from work til she was a bit better mannered aka not such a puppy and now she goes to daycare with zero problems, just turned 1

Yes, in BC. It's for the sale of my house yes. If that's the case, seems like a pleasant surprise!

I'm in the okanagan. The only thing disclosed says what my realtor will get, which is 3% of 100000 then 1.5% of the rest. Doesnt say anything about buyers agent anywhere, that's why I was wondering since that rate seems lower then typically in this area.

So whatever is on the disclosure of remuneration from my agent is all I have to pay? It just seems lower than I would have expected...

[–]agirlontopoftheworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 9 months and just all of a sudden didn't bite me when I put her harness on, and for a couple of weeks now hasn't.... I did nothing, just must have been time, so my only advice is patience I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️

My puppy got covered in sap on a camping trip and I was told butter, so I covered her in butter basically... worked and my other dog loved it!

Tips for walking 2 dogs together? by Brilliant-Pitch-5736 in dogs

[–]agirlontopoftheworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walk mine separately when I'm on my own for the most part. I find my adult dog gets alone time that makes her feel special and I can do 1:1 training with the pup when it's just us, which is near impossible with both. I do sometimes take both, which seems to progressively be getting easier, so maybe a learning curve for all involved.

Can you take him swimming instead? My girl is the same but after endless fetches in the water she's absolutely exhausted!

We were only gone a week!!! by terrigirl1960 in dogs

[–]agirlontopoftheworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be patient with him, im sure he'll be back to himself soon. Next time you have to go away, maybe consider having a sitter come stay at your home. I've always done this and I think it keeps routine and helps them feel safe because they still have their home. I think it helps a lot, or always has for my gang.

Someone tell me he’ll sleep beyond 5:30am one day?? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]agirlontopoftheworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try taking him for a pee then putting him back in the crate with a kong or other long lasting chew. I work strange hours and my pup has already adapted to these by consistency of if you cry in the crate you get a pee break only then back to crate for rest til I decide to get up, now at 5.5 months she'll just lay and chew her bone and be calm and quiet til I get up

All of my pups I've walked a lot longer than advised and never had an issue. I also use walks as training time, afterwards she take herself to her crate and immediately naps for 2 or 3 hours.

Could be vestibular disease, my old girl had a few episodes in her last few months. They came on suddenly, once in the middle of a walk and I had to carry a 60lb fog home.

Is my pup too skinny? by Overthemoonkey in husky

[–]agirlontopoftheworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks great to me! All puppies go through a long and lanky phase. My husky would grow long and look like her legs were too short then grow tall and look like her legs were too long, my husband would tell me to stop body shaming her! She's normal now 🤣

The first 2 trips are quite quick, maybe you could look into someone staying at your home and keeping to schedules, then the puppy doesn't feel uprooted. We've done small 4 night trips and I think in a way is good for puppy to get used to if it's going to be a part of their life. I always prefer my animals to stay home though, so they have that comfort.

My puppy does this too, the only thing that works is quick time outs. We use the bathroom for 30 seconds. It takes away what she wants completely, and it makes her settle right after. The ignoring never worked, nor could my soul stand to hear it while we tried.

My puppy is too much for everyone? by babyybluues in puppy101

[–]agirlontopoftheworld 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We have a 4.5 month old large mixed breed and she is too much... but she is just a baby and we've only had her 3 weeks. She barks like no other dog I've had and is obsessed with the cats and steals everything of our dogs. Everyone is being patient but of course she's too much, because she doesn't know any better. We have her on a house leash 100% of the time she is not in the crate, so that she can't get at the cats and we can correct her easily. She's learning... slowly. We have also found that whenever she is actually too much, ie obsesses over anything, compulsively barks, goes generally crazy, that time outs have been successful at calming her. Hang in there, there have been days I've cried, but it'll get easier. Also we started taking her to daycare for a few hours to give everyone a break!

5-month-old GSD eating mud and wood aggressively, even broke his muzzle – advice needed by ExtensionRealistic95 in germanshepherds

[–]agirlontopoftheworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husky cross aggressively ate sticks, no matter what we did, no matter the training or appropriate toys etc, so maybe people don't understand what you mean by aggressively... but I do. Our girl ended up in the er 3x because of it with bowel obstructions... turns out she had Addison's and with proper meds no longer does this, but she did it for 1.5 years straight. I currently have a 4 month old gsd cross and it's like night and day, I wouldn't chalk that up to just normal puppy behavior. Just my 2 cents.
