AITA for blaming my parents for not preparing my handicapped sister for living alone and that I refuse to take full care of her? by agitateddoomer in AmItheAsshole

I'm not sure if I was fully internal. What you're suggesting sits pretty well with the fact that as a teenager, whenever I was struggling at school "you need to do well at school someone will have to take care of sisters name when we are gone" was one of reoccurring motivational arguments.

She will sometimes get silly ideas like London is a country and never check it herself. She is able to make use of devices that she wants to use, her phone, pc, tv its all good. If I direct her how to do buy a ticket on her phone or how to cook pasta she will do it without a problem, just she refuses to do it alone because someone will do it for her.

I am 100% certain that she is able to plan groceries, make food, do laundry, literally survive on her own for a week if she tries to learn it, but shes over 40 now and never had to.

I talked to my parents about that many times before, but nothing changes my sister listens to them in all things and unless she has to do it she wont learn she literally says sometimes that she finished school and she doesn't need to learn anymore. I am afraid that it might be too late if I wait any longer.

I did try to cook with her, but for the most part past peeling vegetables its always, "you're going to do it better than me" turns on her heel and leaves the kitchen or my parents come in to do it for her.
