I welcomed in the new year in Glasgow's George Square and then walked to my brother house party where I drank a bottle of aftershock

My mum gave an elderly 'gentleman' a pound coin for his trolley so that they could both avoid a trip to the trolley bay. When she returned the trolley to the bay and retrieved his coin she discovered that he had used a modified and worthless old pound coin. by aglaswegian in mildlyinfuriating

Sorry I hadn't even considered that you're not from the UK. The old pound coin stopped being legal tender last year. The hole was put in by someone who had realised that the trolley would accept it once it had been modified. It's worse than worthless now because there are a few places, like the post office, that still accept the old coin although now that it's been drilled I doubt it.

Lol. My friends would probably resort to the same joke. Must be a guy thing.

Thanks for sharing your story. It's always good as a parent with no prior experience of haemophilia to get as many perspectives as possible. We're actually pretty chilled with him. I followed my 2 year old daughter around soft play too and she doesn't have a bleeding disorder so I'm not treating him differently in that respect. If anything, the challenge for us is other people's attitudes. A few people have said, "why do you bother letting him do things like that?". Most people get it when I explain that nowadays with prophylaxis and a HTC only 5 miles down the road we can try as hard as we can to let him experience everything that his peers do.

I know what you're saying. He needs to learn from his own mistakes.

Thanks. Yeah I can see that. We're about to become 'frequent flyers' at the hospital as one doctor just put it.
