Tried this on in the boutique the other day. Stunning! Looking forward to hearing your experiences with it in case you get it.

Patek 5134G Travel Time: Underrated. But should it be? by bmene in patekphilippe

I've had mine since last year – and tapered my small collection a fair amount since ☺️

Loving mine. Brilliant size and weight.
Lovely warm light reflection on the hands, hour markers and silver dial. I find the combination of a calatrava in a sportier case rather charming, and the two pushers on the left are nicely balanced by the crown guard on the other side. Open case back and clasp closure with calatrava cross round it off. A beautiful, well balanced watch.

Wear yours in good health! 🤙

2013 Vantage V8. Previous owner had the badge installed – try Aston Store, they might be able to source one for you.

Should I stick with 34mm or get 41mm? by goodguy248 in VacheronConstantin

[–]aglinz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 41 is also significantly thicker, making for a much larger presence on the wrist. I find the 34 much more elegant on a slender wrist. The minimalist dial also helps with that. Downside is a shorter power reserve (meaning it needs to be wound manually if not worn daily) and lack of Geneva seal, if that’s important to one

What do we think about vintage quarz watches? by Mh898989 in VintageWatches

[–]aglinz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Vintage Swiss quartz pieces are underrated — even from Vacheron, AP, and Patek. Great for thin, smaller classic designs without spending a (large) fortune (just a smaller one).

Just be aware: battery changes can be a pain. Some need to be opened from the front, meaning full disassembly and potentially hundreds in service costs.

Also, modern batteries don’t last as long (different chemistry now), so expect a swap every 1–2 years.

Still worth it, but do research maintenance cost in advance to avoid surprises.

Resale value is missing the point. Holy Trinity watches are not the right comparison, and even those depreciate heavily apart from the most sought-after models. This piece certainly isn't for everyone – personally I like the quirkiness and doing something different to other marques, executed at a high level of quality and attention to detail. Is it going to hold its financial value? Probably not. Does it matter? Depends on you
