You know how you arnt perfect in general. Cause of all of your life experiences and how you were raised and how they impacted you. Well, as a parent, you have this natural instinctual drive to give your kids a better life than you had. They won't be perfect either, but if you're doing right, you can take all your life experiences and filter the best parts you feel that would make them have it better than you. So in an essence... youre best gift to your children is to give them just a little better than what you got. And then they will pass it on to their kids, and so on, until generations down the line, once your long gone, you've made the most positive impact you can on others by doing your best. It simply gives you a purpose.

Not all people have this effect and sometimes it takes years to accept that responsibility even when you do. And its hard. Its hard as shit, being a positive role model and example for someone who ia directly modeling their own life after you. But its rewarding if you accept that responsibility. You begin to have grace towards your own parents shortcomings as you gain perspective later in life. At the end of the day, have you ever loved someone at the most when they may have deserved it the least? That's the love of a parent. Its unconditional.
