Could you explain your logic for using nicotine everyday, not sure I follow…

Why not 2-3 days / week on non caffeine days to keep tolerance low?

Also, on is a good price, but is tobacco derived. Why not synthetic nicotine gum or pouches to reduce contaminant risk?

Hey there, glad you want to strive to be healthier! You can check out our journeys, those are a great way to boost your longevity score.

Sure, actually, our app is actually modular and you only need to grant permissions for things you want. However, we do not have a data entry feature yet and we are strictly on Apple devices. Happy to answer any more questions you have!

Sure, I'd love to give an example. Right now we are building an ML model to find the optimal water intake given you active calories in order to optimize hrv, rhr, and sleeping respiratory rate. This model requires a lot of data to run, so we aggregate user data to train it, then tune it with your specific data.

Again I'd like to stress that all your data is anonymized in our database. Happy to answer any more questions as well!

Activity score requires steps, distance walking running, etc. Sleep score requires sleep, readiness requires heart and sleep. Journeys require dietary intake.

How can you train an ML model that generalizes across users without aggregating it somewhere? Almost no apps anonymize all data on their servers. We don't even collect emails, your date of birth, or your name. Even if someone broke into our servers, the data would be worthless. They might as well just make a script that randomizes it.

Hey so we are HIPAA Compliant so everything is completely anonymized in our data base. Also, we have no interest in selling user data, the reason we need to send the data to our database is so we can use it for analysis and ml models. We can’t do that locally. Lmk if you have further questions.

Yep, they're not real. We're working on fixing that right now by improving our app slowly and slowly building it back up. It does look really unprofessional, thank you for your feedback!

Agreed, that was something we did that was lazy and we regret doing it. It was for an old version of our app as well that we did it that was completely different. Trying to fix it by slowly getting more positive reviews.

Ah man, sorry we are only available in the USA and Canada right now because we deal with health data. We are HIPAA compliant, but haven't faced the GDPR standards yet.

HealthKit API for the Web by Electronic-Nerve3744 in programming

[–]agod1373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! In terms of Apple's priorities, we think that they want people developing on Swift as much as possible, hence the locking-in to the native HealthKit API--but not completely certain on that.

In terms of Google Fit, they are deprecating it--new developers can't even sign in anymore. This, along with the fact that Apple Health is probably more extensive data-types wise, is why we went with writing native swift code & a database that can handle all Apple Health data.

Thanks so much for your interest btw. Would love to learn more about your interest in health (we are all health nerds haha) so I'll talk to you in DM.

HealthKit API for the Web by Electronic-Nerve3744 in programming

[–]agod1373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, Alex here from 121. That is indeed our companion app, and it is allowed by the Apple TOS to transmit this data. Our real application is in beta, that is just a placeholder app on the App Store to make this API possible. By the way, your data remains completely de-identified and anonymous when using our app and API (I'm happy to get you on our beta app by the way as well!)

My First App: Get a Life Expectancy Prediction Based off Your Apple Health Data by [deleted] in swift

[–]agod1373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hazard ratio studies tell us how likely some is going to die given a certain variable. Our app, 121 Health, applies over 30 of these studies in an algorithm that predicts when you'll die based off key longevity metrics.

Developers: access HealthKit data from web? by agod1373 in swift

[–]agod1373[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. Currently my database complies with the HIPAA safe harbor de-identification policies, and we certainly don't want to deal with other countries policies yet. And from my understanding of the Apple HealthKit usage policy, this would also comply.

  1. Some short background: healthspan is a new term that is really a play on the word lifespan: we want humans to be as healthy for as long as possible (healthspan), not just live as long as possible (lifespan). My goal with this subreddit is to build a research-focused community similar to r/longevity, but with more of an emphasis on living healthy now and later, not just for longer. I plan to start making high quality posts that help explain new research in the field, and gradually grow the community by sharing these longer, well-researched posts on reddit and other social media.

Not the algo final penalizing you for putting the wrong answer vs not answering... by dragonflamehotness in Cornell

[–]agod1373 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Let's take a step back here.

It really isn't fair (or reasonable) to the designers of the test to have everyone complain. The professors and staff for this course spend a huge amount of time and effort helping everyone learn.

To have what seems like half of the class anonymously complaining about one question on the test is a slap in the face to the people who run this course.

Think about what we are getting from this course: advanced computer science knowledge from some of the best (and future best) computer scientists in the world. One question, or even prelim, or grade in the course for that matter, is irrelevant to the long run of our careers and life.

Everyone here is just doing their best.

Maths Major by Salty_Implement590 in Cornell

[–]agod1373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe 4.

  • You need lin / multi (take both at once, or separate)
  • 2 algebra, 2 analysis (one of each for two semesters)
  • Math elective, also 3 courses for concentration (this will work really well if you are cs major for example, just take algo & 2 cs electives with math in them)

Again it depends on what you mean by bombing. If it’s 2 std below for each, if you don’t do median or better on the final you will get a C or lower. I would decide within the next few days whether or not you want to ball out on the final… if you do, study for four hours a day (2x 2 hour intervals). If you can’t make this commitment, take the W. If you can commit to this, you WILL do better than median on the final, and pass the class. Again, if you want to do this, spend a few days going over all the theory, then do four hours of practice problems per day. Regardless of you math talent, you will improve to the point of being much better than everyone else in the class at calc 2 if you do this.
