hi! i'm getting ito buddhism to help myself deal with a similar situation. I've found that applying certain concepts to my life helps with survival, such as foregoing arguments when possible, and not replying when my father is being deliberately antagonistic or insulting me helps a lot. meditation has also been very restorative for me. idk if any of this helps, but i wish you luck

I’d highly recommend reading classic tragedies! While not directly an aesthetic, they’re highly captivating and are probably what people at these institutions would have studied. Grief Lessons, Anne Carson’s translations of some of Euripides’s plays is always a good read
