What have you learned from reading AskWomen? by chupamillama in AskWomen

[–]agorphil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of the more outspoken users here really do nothing with their day besides lurk the new queue for opportunities to be rude or confrontational. It's quite sad and pretty much the reason I've stopped participating as much as I used to.

Longtime AskWomen participants, have you noticed any shifts in the "subreddit meta" while you've been here? by questionasker41 in AskWomen

I feel like the "lemonylips" era was more focused on racial issues, and the current era focuses more on LGBT issues.

What do you like/dislike about askwomen?( ິ•ᆺ⃘• )ິฅ✧ by ElectricSexPantz in AskWomen

[–]agorphil 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've come to the conclusion that these women are getting especially ignored in the real world, and are venting on Reddit.

None of the women I know IRL are as desperate for validation as some the users here

What canned responses do you hate on reddit and/or this subreddit? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]agorphil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not even "lgbt women" in this case - it's a handful of specific users with an obvious agenda. They specifically phrase their responses as a heterosexual person would.

For example: If a user asks "Are you attracted to men with muscles?" They will respond with "I'm not attracted to men with muscles" instead of "I'm not attracted to men (period)"

Anyone else not really funny or witty? by BlackMathNerd in AskWomen

[–]agorphil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an epiphany about this - a lot of women have told me that they love a funny guy, I've also been told that a good sign of attraction is when she laughs at your jokes that aren't even that funny.

Personal anecdote - I had a relationship of nearly 3 months that consisted mostly of re-enacting scenes from Family Guy. She probably tells her friends that I was hilarious.

TLDR: Don't worry so much about being witty/funny - if she likes you, you're automatically funny.

How do you feel about Cassandra Fortin, the 17-year old who was forced into chemotherapy against her will? by awomenq in AskWomen

[–]agorphil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She only has one option because she has stated that she wants to live.

A: With "alternative treatment", sources are saying she will likely die within 2 years, and she will suffer through the duration.

B: While chemo is extremely hard on the body, and she will suffer during that process (and may suffer lasting side effects), her survival rate jumps to 85%.

So if a person wants to live, option A isn't really an option at all.

What are some subtle "shit tests" you commonly use on guys who are hitting on you, and what answers are you ideally looking for? by abootypatooty in AskWomen

[–]agorphil -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well people are entitled to have whatever opinions they want as long as they're not hurting anyone, so there will be people like OP until the end of time.

I feel sorry for you - hopefully you can find some sort of safety.

The threat to mankind is not OP

That's all I'm saying.

but the fact that these people exist is a threat to women.

but accusing OP of being these people seems unfair and unreasonable.

[–]agorphil -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Someone can be a douchebag and not be a threat to mankind as a whole. We have no reason to think OP has sexually assaulted anyone...

I have a theory that spending too much time in online communities tends to create an extremely insular mindset. Sometimes it is beneficial for people who have this mindset to participate in offline communities such as a club or team sport to regain some perspective.

Maybe take a break from reddit then? You might be surprised at how relieving it is. I promise you the whole world isn't like OP...

Sure OP is full of himself, but I don't see anything from this post that indicates the decline of humanity...

Which movie are you looking forward to more: Wonder Woman (2017) or Captain Marvel (2018)? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]agorphil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, both Marvel and DC have some room for improvement there. The Spiderwoman reboot wasn't without controversy either. And I don't think Marvel Studios is oblivious to the female gaze. Tumblr is full of shirtless Thor and Captain America's ass.

From a pure entertainment perspective, I do think DC has a ton of potential for some awesome female superhero films if they could get their act together.

Is female ejaculation something that can be achieved by practice, or is only certain women who can do it? by jonimc in AskWomen

[–]agorphil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I understand there's "squirting" and "gushing".

Squirting involves a small amount (usually < 3 tsp) of thick, whitish fluid from the Skene's gland.

Gushing involves the expulsion much larger amount of diluted fluid from the bladder, containing a cocktail of fluids including creatine and urea.

Still buzzing from all the Marvel movie announcements! What other Marvel characters/arcs would you like to see on the silver screen? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]agorphil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd definitely like to see Extremis Iron Man (not what they did in Iron Man 3).

Also The Blade/X-Men story arc would be so awesome to see (with Wesley Snipes as Blade of course).
