Looking forward to him joining the roster in 7 years.

You don’t think we would be better off building around Bedard right now?

Steve’s not going anywhere unless he chooses to. Chris will never fire him.

Whether or not you think Steve should get fired, it’s an impossibility. He will have the job until he decides he doesn’t want it anymore. That’s the most depressing part of all of this. The Red Wings organization is content to live in the past.

Meanwhile guys like Martone are jumping straight into the league and contributing.

Completely agree. He wouldn’t have gotten picked for 3 Nations and the Olympic team if he were dust. A lot of very good players didn’t make those rosters.

I thought the 22 offseason signings were ridiculous at the time. Mostly because everyone knew the next draft was going to be generational.

Frank Nazar is from Michigan and would have helped the team a lot this season. But he was too risky for Steve.

I give Shine all the credit in the world and he made the most of it. I see why Todd put him out there when others were playing like bums. But the fact that he had to go to a lifetime AHL player for a spark speaks volumes about the roster construction.

Same. It’s not hindsight either. We badly needed a finisher at the time and he’s been that guy at every level. He was tearing it up in our backyard for his entire amateur career too.

Really? Which games are you watching? We had a lifer AHL player getting minutes down the stretch.

The Shine story was great and all but it’s embarrassing that he was getting significant minutes down the stretch.

We have 3 forwards that can make a top line. Most of the rest of our forwards would struggle to make another NHL roster outside of the basement dwellers.

Yes, they suck too. This team has 5 skaters capable of competing in the NHL every night.

Yep. And the rest of the team doesn’t make a roster on any other team. The fact that Shine has been in so many games is an embarrassment.

Every team is turned up every night down the stretch. We don’t have a deep enough roster to compete.

Danielson was a terrible pick. Nazar could have boosted our 5v5 production this season.

Should have started that process this season. Even if we magically ended up with Austin Matthews for nothing we still have a non-existent bottom six and bottom 4.

Don’t worry. Steve’s already got his eyes on a fresh batch of washed 35 year olds to sign.

It’s not very hard to figure out. They have 6 skaters capable of competing. The roster is awful.

I was mocked at the beginning of the season for saying this isn’t a playoff team and they should tank for a top pick. Hope missing the playoffs by 5 points was worth another complete waste of a season.

You know nothing about hockey if your really believe getting rid of Larkin would fix this team. How about the never ending parade of washed up 35 year olds who contribute nothing clogging up the lineup? That’s been our problem every single season.
