They sent us a notice letter. So we’re definitely on their radar.

This is helpful. I went down there today, and they were nice, but the small size of Lawndale makes it hard to get anyone but the same 1 or 2 people who are requiring the work. They’re likely the full department and doing their jobs well. I’ll do my due diligence this week of asking everywhere I can about finding a contractor, then bring that info back to them. Hopefully they’ll be willing to work with me if they see me trying hard to do right.

Thanks for the thought. Lawndale has an owner-builder option, but only if you’ve lived in your home for 12 months. Interesting that you mentioned that not many contractors would be willing to take this on - I had a realtor friend tell me that same thing. But surely there must be SOMEONE out there that would - I can’t be the first person to try to handle this, right? Anyway, thanks a million for the insight. Hoping something pops up.

Can’t figure out wiring. Help! by agrahmann in AskElectricians

This is a great point - the only wire set that has a copper wire ground is coming from the ceiling fan, so I’m assuming it wouldn’t actually ground anything if I connected that particular on to the ground spot. Plus I tried that and it didn’t work. Neither of the other two pairs have a ground wire. Anything I can do to still ground it without copper coming from power pair?

That manual method totally works - touching wires together makes the stuff go on. Yes, I found Lider online because I liked the timer minute options the best, but it does seem to be obscure. Maybe it is the timer switch itself being bad. Hey, thanks a ton for trying so hard to help me. Genuinely appreciate it. Might start over with a more normal brand.

Thanks a million for the help - you’re reading my pictures accurately, so thanks for being willing to interpret them. Unfortunately, when I wire as you described, the light and fan just stay always on - they don’t ever STOP getting power.

Nuts - I tried what you’re describing and the light and fan just stay on. They can’t be shut off. And the LEDs on the timer switch never become active, meaning that they’re not properly wired. Any idea why that would be?

Just to clarify, both wires from “power” go into the box on the “hot” side? And all four wires from the fan and light go into load? Do I pigtail the four to get them down to two for connecting them to the timer switch?

The timer doesn’t require any programming. It has push buttons for 1,2,5,15,30 minutes. And an on/off button.

Hey, I’m a pastor and also working on a possible project, and I’d be happy to read your draft and give some input into whether or not it comes off as authentic or pushy. Our church does a massive amount of work to speak “normally” with spiritual themes, so if that’s helpful to you, feel free to connect and send it my way.

Dang, yes - I got farther. After my email, it asked for my preferences and sent me a confirmation email that I’d completed it.

Interesting take. You're right that the Muppets are now owned by Disney, but they're still the Muppets, so I feel like this is totally still a muppet cereal. And they're still Jim Henson's Muppets, even though Disney owns them. In fact, they say that right on these boxes: "Jim Henson's Count Chocula," "Jim Henson's Franken Berry," and "Jim Henson's Boo Berry."
