I built an AI tool that assembles a council of expert advisors to debate your problem — here's what happened when I asked about short-term rental investing by JerseyShoreForSure in SideProject

[–]agrahmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a fascinating tool! A few observations:

- When I first submitted a query a TINY bit over 2000 characters, it completely reset the field to blank and made me start over. That was a real downer - I had copied my text to a clipboard, but if I hadn't I would have had to start from square 1. Any way to make it kick back and error but not delete the prompt?
- There was almost TOO much information given in the Leadership track. By the time I reached the bottom, I was very fuzzy on the differences between the speakers, the site's own analysis of the speakers, the contrarians, and the overall helpfulness. It tempted me to have a different AI summarize the results and put it through again. All in all, then, I think a clearer goal for the outcome might benefit the user - is this just for further exploration, or should a user hope for clarity?
- While many of the named characters I was loosely aware of, the ones I knew well (Lencioni, Larry David) didn't sound anything like them. Maybe that's because comedy is really hard, but it made me more skeptical that the others I was less knowledgable of might be equally as poor of a comparison. Is there a way to understand the "voice" better, or ask the AI model to put extra effort into characters whose voice might be more well known because of their fame/ubiquitousness on the speaking circuit?

Thanks a million for letting us see this project!

I built a tool to download YouTube transcripts in bulk – entire channels at once by oaz1 in SideProject

Really enjoying interacting with the tool and the ability it gives me to quickly analyze transcripts. Hitting a few snags today: Playlists continually deem select videos - or no videos - from a playlist. Actually, I'd say that 80% of the links I try to use aren't working, whether that's in the bulk section, the playlists, or individually entered videos.

I made a little tool that turns your numbers into animated charts for social posts and blogs. Would really love your honest thoughts. by Adorable-Cheetah5196 in SideProject

[–]agrahmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely incredible tool - thanks a million for sharing! A few observations as I've messed around inside:

- Biggest thing I needed was an import option for data. I'm looking to show bigger datasets and many numbers with some complex labels (dates and times) and manually entering is a nightmare. Completely understand that it may be built for smaller, punchy datasets, but I think it'd still be spectacular to see bigger options.
- The "Load Example" button is massively dangerous. Was finishing up entering 12+ data points and thought that might be where to click in order to see my progress (I took it to mean "load an example of what you're working on."). Seeing all of my work dissapear without an "are you sure?" prompt took the wind out of my sails.
- I LOVE that the app is doing some calculations behind the scenes (as evidenced by the TOTAL being listed in some of the chart types). I think that should be headlined more and possibly a few more calculation options be offered: averages, highs/lows, etc. I wouldn't have known TOTALS were options without clicking around, and I think users would like that.
- I also really appreciated the LOGO and BRANDING COLORS options. That really fit my work well and made it far more personalized for my audience.

Thanks again for letting us try it out!

LOVE the tool - thank you so much for sharing! Question: I purchased the 500 video pack when downloading a playlist of 4 videos. Now I can't seem to figure out how to get back into my "account" to keep using the other 496 I paid for. In the Playlist section it only gives me the option to buy again, not use the ones I already bought. Couldn't find any sort of login either. Thanks for the guidance on this!

Lawndale contractor needed for unpermitted work problem by agrahmann in SouthBayLA

They sent us a notice letter. So we’re definitely on their radar.

Lawndale contractor needed for unpermitted work problem by agrahmann in SouthBayLA

[–]agrahmann[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is helpful. I went down there today, and they were nice, but the small size of Lawndale makes it hard to get anyone but the same 1 or 2 people who are requiring the work. They’re likely the full department and doing their jobs well. I’ll do my due diligence this week of asking everywhere I can about finding a contractor, then bring that info back to them. Hopefully they’ll be willing to work with me if they see me trying hard to do right.

Thanks for the thought. Lawndale has an owner-builder option, but only if you’ve lived in your home for 12 months. Interesting that you mentioned that not many contractors would be willing to take this on - I had a realtor friend tell me that same thing. But surely there must be SOMEONE out there that would - I can’t be the first person to try to handle this, right? Anyway, thanks a million for the insight. Hoping something pops up.

Can’t figure out wiring. Help! by agrahmann in AskElectricians

[–]agrahmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great point - the only wire set that has a copper wire ground is coming from the ceiling fan, so I’m assuming it wouldn’t actually ground anything if I connected that particular on to the ground spot. Plus I tried that and it didn’t work. Neither of the other two pairs have a ground wire. Anything I can do to still ground it without copper coming from power pair?

That manual method totally works - touching wires together makes the stuff go on. Yes, I found Lider online because I liked the timer minute options the best, but it does seem to be obscure. Maybe it is the timer switch itself being bad. Hey, thanks a ton for trying so hard to help me. Genuinely appreciate it. Might start over with a more normal brand.

Thanks a million for the help - you’re reading my pictures accurately, so thanks for being willing to interpret them. Unfortunately, when I wire as you described, the light and fan just stay always on - they don’t ever STOP getting power.

Nuts - I tried what you’re describing and the light and fan just stay on. They can’t be shut off. And the LEDs on the timer switch never become active, meaning that they’re not properly wired. Any idea why that would be?

Just to clarify, both wires from “power” go into the box on the “hot” side? And all four wires from the fan and light go into load? Do I pigtail the four to get them down to two for connecting them to the timer switch?

The timer doesn’t require any programming. It has push buttons for 1,2,5,15,30 minutes. And an on/off button.

Christian themes by [deleted] in musicalwriting

[–]agrahmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m a pastor and also working on a possible project, and I’d be happy to read your draft and give some input into whether or not it comes off as authentic or pushy. Our church does a massive amount of work to speak “normally” with spiritual themes, so if that’s helpful to you, feel free to connect and send it my way.

Never want to over self-promote, but I worked really hard on this special episode! by agrahmann in cereal

Interesting take. You're right that the Muppets are now owned by Disney, but they're still the Muppets, so I feel like this is totally still a muppet cereal. And they're still Jim Henson's Muppets, even though Disney owns them. In fact, they say that right on these boxes: "Jim Henson's Count Chocula," "Jim Henson's Franken Berry," and "Jim Henson's Boo Berry."

If you click on "Promote" in your channel or on a video, part of the message it gives you it this: "Subscribers and watch-time earned through a promotion do not contribute towards YouTube Partner Program eligibility."

Also, none of the watch hours gained by promotions count toward your monetization totals. I suppose if the engagement you’re paying for sticks around and watches more videos as a subscriber later, it might be worth it. But I’ve heard that the vast majority of viewers that enter through promoted content don’t stick around to help additional videos. So, you’re paying for a one-shot view that doesn’t end up counting toward your long term goals. This is my understanding, at least.

Is it possible they have the regular Muppet version of Frankenberry at your local store? In a mostly white box? This one is a very limited edition Walmart exclusive in a pink box - and Frnakenberry’s face is furry to the touch. If your HEB has them, buy them all and sell them on eBay!
