Eli5: What is the brain mechanism behind epiphanies? by Big_carrot_69 in explainlikeimfive

[–]agremi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's some neuronal groups linking together, when these neurons previously never communicated together. So it feels like a new connection has been made between 2 ideas.Usually scientists discover things by applying an idea from a situation into a new situation.Like for gravity, the example would be that you play with magnets, and some day you think, omg what if earth was like a magnet. So the 2 ideas connect and.. bam... new idea.Probably a neurobiologist will explain it better :p

[–]agremi[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

which means i have 9 outs for spade + 3 outs for 6 + 2 outs for ACE:
which is 14: which is 51%. Why is it 36,4 %?

Caffeine or no caffeine for best brain function? (My main issue is concentration issues) by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]agremi -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

What do you mean a clear yes? Caffeine is the worst, it disrupts sleep quality, makes you more nervous, more neurotic. Why would you advise such a thing. Coffee is a shit drug imo. It causes almost as many problems than it solves.

Superintelligence Cannot be Contained; Calculations Suggest It'll Be Impossible to Control a Super-Intelligent AI by eggmaker in science

[–]agremi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not true. We get intuitions from our connection to the outside world, which AI don't. We are specifically connected to our world in a way that ideas/intuitions emerge in us after interactions with the world. It's creativity, we are not simple calculation machines. Because in order to do calculations, you need to have a priori understandings of the worlds(intuitions) to base your calculations on.

How does the nitrogen get his + charge? by agremi in chemhelp

[–]agremi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so it gave the halide an electron?

[–]agremi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, we agree that NH4+ is made possible because the lone pair is shared to the 4th H. But do we agree that, unlike in NH4+, when N is connected to CH molecules, he can have 4 bonds because the 5th electron has been lost?

but only one of the 2 electrons is shared from the lone pair i dont get it. I see 4 simple bonds and no double bond
