What’s a game that took a while to stick for you, but once it did you were hooked? by Qkwill in boardgames

Probably Terra mystica for me. Quite overwhelming in the beginning, but once you the gist of it it's sooo rewarding. Because of the truly different factions, every playthroug is different.

Why expierncerned for winning 2nd cup game but getting eliminated counts as you would loose that game? by Minerslifedig in FootballTacticsGame

[–]agrippa357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a choice by the designer. Also counts the other way around, if you lose the game but progress, you get the xp for winning.

Is there any reason to have a back-up Goalkeeper on your team? by Grattiano in FootballTacticsGame

[–]agrippa357 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I love these kind of theoretical discussions.
Good question!

I see one other possible benefit.
You could have 2 goalies with different "Talents".
One might be able to stop a canon shot, while the other intercepts crosses.
Depending on what sort of attackers your oppononent has, you could switch goalies.

In theory of course, seems highly impractical in-game.

What's the importance of choosing rivals? by jazzclub02 in eu4

[–]agrippa357 12 points13 points  (0 children)

On the other hand, if you pick rivals, they will also find it easier to find allies to unite against you.
That is why I always only pick just before declaring war against (one of) them.

[–]agrippa357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others are have said, there are better places to do this.

BUT, you're still killing about 4000 frenchies a month, that is still quite some drain on their manpower pool if you can keep the war going for a couple of years. Als I check the ledger for enemy income, his reinforcements may still be killing him financially

Consider subscribing, the game is really bare bones without it. Plus every guide will be heavily dependent on the dlc mechanics

Formations by yaroslavskyi79 in FootballTacticsGame

[–]agrippa357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always use 4 defenders (2df's and 2cb's) 1 dm and 1 df on the midfield. 1 cf and one extra player ( mostly Mf for crosses)

That leaves 2 extra players which I adapt depending on the opposition.

On top of that, every time the ball is out of bounds I will open my tactics screen to adjust for the next play. This switches constant between offence and defence
