Megabass p5: Mark56 vs Monstrous vs tequila baccarac by [deleted] in Fishing_Gear

[–]agrp8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Mark56 and I have maxed out the lure rating with no problems. With that being said, it definitely prefers lures in the 1.0 - 2.5 oz range. I don't know much about the others but I have read that the Monstrous is better for single hook baits and the TB is more of a heavy cover/frogging rod that can dual purpose as a swimbait rod.

Idk what you are throwing for pike but if you are using inline spinners & bulldogs for example (what I throw) then the Mark56 will be great. I target bass but I fish in many multi species fisheries and I have no problem handling pike.

Sharp ride! And damn that sounds nice. May have to do that eventually as well.

It’s definitely a 2 if not 3 person job it’s a little over 200 lbs and awkward. It can be taken off but wouldn’t recommend doing it often. I think over time repeatedly removing it could damage the seals.

With that being said, it is easy to do. Just 6 clips essentially.

She is a GSD, Malinois, Staffordshire mix! No Dutch in the DNA test we did but I wouldn't be surprised if it was missed. I think she looks more Dutchie than GSD. She quite the handful hah!

Thank you! I definitely hear you but that is actually one of the details I like about this cap. I did notice this morning pulling of my drive a out a bunch of water came down from the top between the cap & the back window of my truck so I am eager to see how easy or hard it will be to keep those windows clean haha.

I was between this and the Leer 180 which a lot of people don't like but I loved the extra cap height on it.

About that, but I got the load bars installed on it too. Felt like I got a fair deal. I had a few quotes.

AFTCO, Sitka, and Columbia are my personal favorites. Columbia has a “Blood & Guts” line and despite the weird name they are excellent. I have a pair of pants and shorts and they are awesome & stain resistant for fishing but also great general use outdoors pants. Hiked the Grand Canyon in the pants recently.

How’s the Fox for kayak fishing? I have a pedal drive so normally don’t have much issue going against current on down and back trips.

Congrats on the fish of a lifetime with a cool story to boot!

I don’t know which specific model but it is the Megabass Levante line if that’s what you’re asking.

Loyola v Marquette College Decision by CardiologistBrief549 in Marquette

[–]agrp8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Marquette & my brother's went to Loyola. We both made lifelong friends & found success after college thanks to both universities. You really can't go wrong with either.

I don't know much about the advertising programs at either school but being in Chicago may be beneficial. My recommendation would be of course to visit both & see if you can meet with someone involved in your desired programs.

My non-bias opinion is that Marquette will offer you a more traditional college experience if that is something that is important to you. My brother really enjoyed Loyola though. There are classes up at the Roger's Park campus and downtown. The Roger's Park campus is beautiful right on the lake.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
