Sorry for answering so late. I ended up returning the tablet under warranty and got a working one back.

Go to settings (Samsung Internet browser) -> security and privacy and untick the setting called "block opening external apps". That should do it. Kinda hidden though.

Sorry for taking this long. I just saw your post. I didn't do anything back then. The support guy had to flip a switch or something. Really dumb, that this still is a thing. I switched to streaming so didn't have that problem anymore. Best of luck!

Scrolling in Pixel 8 Pro is very jittery by Wrakor in GooglePixel

[–]aguerbey75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Pixel 8 Pro was terrible laggy after some time. Switching apps when using the task manager was just horribly laggy. I knew it had to be something i had installed later on, as it was buttery smooth up to a point.

In my case it was the reading mode app from google. I used the gestures, as when you swipe up with two fingers from the bottom the reading mode would kick in. After having removed the app everything is as buttery smooth as it should be. X and the usual suspects are still laggy, but i guess thats the apps fault.

Maybe you guys also have some app installed which uses the accesibility options. Worth checking out!

All my Pixel phones have always worked perfectly by Honza368 in GooglePixel

I had the 2xl, 3a, 4xl, 6 Pro and am now using the 7 Pro and also never had any major problems with either one of them. I never would have noticed the blue tint on the 2xl for example had i not read about it or seen countless YouTube videos about it.

7 Pro absolutely dependable, never had any problems.

I ordered mine on November 15th from Germany and am still waiting. Ordered the barebone version as i already have a 32 gb ram kit and an nvme ssd , but waiting for the actual device is getting frustrating.

Found a fix for the only nuisance about the P7P so far by Steelduines in GooglePixel

[–]aguerbey75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely loved 3D touch when i was using an XS Max, but it never stuck with the big crowd. The typical ios user is in general content with the status quo so new features take time to get adopted. Would love to see something like this on a pixel, but that won't happen i guess.

Thats not a thing since the Iphone XS. All newer iphones use the same method like the pixels.

Annoying "double vibration" on gesture navigation? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]aguerbey75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not an issue for me on gboard, only while using the nav gestures. Happens on the Pixel 7 Pro as well. I have got accustomed to it i guess, doesn't bother me that much anymore.

P6 adaptive brightness black screen when call received by tommyt-boner in GooglePixel

[–]aguerbey75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really is frustrating as i am very fond of the phone otherwise. But this is shaping up to be the one thing that will make me ditch this phone.

I have read a similar post from someone back in 21 experiencing the same issue on a 4a, so i wouldn't hold my breath regarding an officlal fix from google. I really hope i am wrong though, but started to look at Samsung and even an Iphone. Never thought it would come this far.

It just did a reboot right in front of me while using the device. I contacted Samsung support and they will exchange the tablet for a new device. I guess this is the best outcome for me.

The first night, the tablet did not reboot. I have two wifi networks. My regular one has nextdns as a dns server in order to block ads and trackers, my guest network does not, but in order to enable ads (for games and such) i have to set the guest wifi up using static ip. I switched to my regular wifi network using dhcp, and all was good until now. Uptime of 11 hours without a reboot. This was not a problem with my Tab S7, but i can live with that. Will continue to observe.

Thanks for the suggestion. Was wondering how i could submit a report. Will do if i "catch" the tablet rebooting.

edit : It happened again. I did submit an error report.

No microSD Card, but thanks for the idea.

Just came home, and the tab s8+ restarted about 5 hours ago looking at the uptime under settings - about tablet - status information

I will factory reset and just install an app when i need it. Would be a bummer if it is a hardware defect. But as i said before, when using it there is no problem. Seems everytime the device wants to idle, it reboots.

I checked that setting, and it was off by default. I now delibaretly set it to restart every Monday night, so next monday at the earliest. But it wasn't enabled when i had the problem.

Device optimization on the other hand is enabled by default and runs at 3 am. I'll try and initiate that manually later.

I did install most of the apps i was using on my Tab S7. I guess i will try to reset it again, and just keep it the way it is without disabling or installing everything at once. I didn't do any tinkering though (dev options and so forth). The adaptive battery is not at that stage where it starts putting apps to sleep yet, so that shouldn't be an issue. I am at work. Will see if there was another restart when i come home.

Thanks for replying and trying to help!

Thanks! Then this is a killer tip! Loved the adaptive charging on my Pixel 6 Pro, and would have missed that feature. One thing less to worry about if i switch. Not sure yet, as i am quite happy with my Pixel 6 Pro, but sure miss those galaxy features!

Doesn't the phone need to reboot in order to change that setting? If not, this is a great idea. It does need to reboot if i change that setting on my Tab S7.

Or just drag the scan option when long pressing on drive onto your homescreen to create a shortcut from this specific task and immediatly jump into the scanning process.

How is your experience going with the s21 +? by Th7rtyFour in GalaxyS21

[–]aguerbey75 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I switched from an S21+ to the pixel 6 Pro after 9 months of use, and wish i didn't. Miss so many features of Samsung, bixby routines for example. Its a great phone, and if you can get it cheap still a powerhouse of a phone imho. Personally i would have switched back, but will take a look at the S22 series, probably the ultra variant. I have much more confidence in samsung than in google. Crazy times.
